The tpics include: genetics, the nervus and visual system, brain develpment, the bilgical bases f stress, the reward circuits f the brain, cgnitive neurscience and psychpathlgy. Students will be given the pprtunity t attend nine 2 hur interactive teaching sessins which intrduce them t the main cncepts and theries assciated with the subject matter f the curse. In additin, there will be a series f tutrials where students will have further pprtunity t actively discuss issues in depth. By the end f this curse students shuld be able t: Understand well established theries, findings, and methds in a number f specialized areas in bilgical psychlgy, including genetics, functinal and structural neuranatmy, the develpment f the nervus system, visin, stress, and psychpathlgy. Demnstrate knwledge f the relatinship between genetics, brain structures, functins and behavir, and reasn scientifically. It will be held in class n 4 th March. - Essay (30%). The essay will cunt 30% f the ttal mark. The maximal length f the essay is strictly 1,500 wrds. It is due n Friday 2 nd May at 4 pm. The maximal length f the essay is 1,500 wrds (excluding the cver page, title, and references). 2. The actual wrd cunt shuld be nted n the cver page f the reprt. 3. The essay shuld be printed n white A4 paper, tw sided, lng edge binding. The printed cpy f yur paper shuld be stapled when yu turn it in. 4. Use 12 pint Times (r Times New Rman) fnt, make it single spaced, and maintain at least a 1 inch margin at the tp, bttm, left, and right edges f the paper. 5. Use APA style frmatting fr references (as the references in the end f the textbk).
