Students will be given the pprtunity t attend nine 2 hur interactive teaching sessins which intrduce them t the main cncepts and theries assciated with the subject matter f the curse. In additin, there will be a series f tutrials where students will have further pprtunity t actively discuss issues in depth. By the end f this curse students shuld be able t: Understand well established theries, findings, and methds in a number f specialized areas in bilgical psychlgy, including genetics, functinal and structural neuranatmy, the develpment f the nervus system, visin, stress, and psychpathlgy. Demnstrate knwledge f the relatinship between genetics, brain structures, functins and behavir, and reasn scientifically. Discuss current scientific research relevant t the theries in these areas within the bilgical psychlgy field, and hw it can be applied t real wrld prblems with critical thinking. It will be held in class n 4 th March. - Essay (30%). The essay will cunt 30% f the ttal mark. The maximal length f the essay is strictly 1,500 wrds. It is due n Friday 2 nd May at 4 pm. Bth the hardcpy and the electrnic cpy have t be submitted in time; late submissin will nt be accepted. Thus students are strngly advised t submit it well befre the deadline. - A final test (40%). The final test will cunt 40% f the ttal mark. The final exam will cnsist f questins requiring shrt respnses as well as f questins requiring essaytype respnses (2 3 pages max). The maximal length f the essay is 1,500 wrds (excluding the cver page, title, and references). 2. The actual wrd cunt shuld be nted n the cver page f the reprt. 3. The essay shuld be printed n white A4 paper, tw sided, lng edge binding. The printed cpy f yur paper shuld be stapled when yu turn it in. 4. Use 12 pint Times (r Times New Rman) fnt, make it single spaced, and maintain at least a 1 inch margin at the tp, bttm, left, and right edges f the paper. 5. Use APA style frmatting fr references (as the references in the end f the textbk). Be sure t prperly cite any references and surces yu use in the essay, such as images, explanatins, histries, etc. The essay has t be written in English; be sure t spell check and prfread yur paper. Yu may use bld headings and subheadings, and yu may center titles, headings, and subheadings if yu wish. Yu may use left justified r fully justified alignment fr the bdy f yur paper. Five % f the ttal essay mark will be deducted if the wrd cunt exceeds 1,500 wrds. Grading The essay is due n 2 nd May Friday at 4 pm. The electrnic cpy has t be submitted nline n Turnitin.cm by 4 pm, and the hardcpy shuld be submitted t the tutr s mailbx at the General Office JCT 627. Bth hard and electrnic cpies have t be submitted in time; late essays will nt be accepted. The cntents f the hardcpy and the sftcpy must be identical.
