2 Intrductin Hell and welcme t yur new website! Yur crps has its wn page where yu can put lts f infrmatin abut yur church. We hpe yu enjy using it. We have cpied infrmatin abut yur crps frm the ld website, s this may be utdated. It is likely that yu will want t change and update sme f this infrmatin. This is the beta stage f the website and dcument. Much f the functinality fr the website is in place. We are adding new features that are being asked fr by crps, s yur feedback is welcme and acted upn. We hpe this first editin f the dcument will help yu get a feel fr yur new website. 4 Lg n T start editing yu will need t lg n. G t Yur username is yur Crps name e.g. Wintn r Peterbrugh Citadel Yur default passwrd is yur crps name, all lwercase and with n capitals r spaces. E.g. wintn r peterbrughcitadel Once yu ve lgged in click n edit t change yur passwrd: Enter yur current passwrd and then chse a new ne and press save. If at any time yu frget yur passwrd then yu can either us at crpsweb@salvatinarmy.rg.uk r click n the Request new passwrd link and fllw the instructins. When yu are lgged in yu ll need t get t yur wn crps page. Click n the link t type yur crps name in the url at the end f salvatinarmy.rg.uk e.g. salvatinarmy.rg.uk/wintn. If yur crps has several wrds in the name then it will be hyphenated e.g. leigh-n-sea Welcme t yur web page. 4

5 Editing The layut and design f yur crps cannt be altered. Yu nly have t update the infrmatin and check it regularly s that all time, dates and events are accurate. Click the Edit buttn. A few fields can prbably be left as they are, as yu will see the basic infrmatin f the crps is already n the page. Title The Title is the name f the crps, this shuld already be crrect. Title-hyphenatin Use this field if yur crps has lng wrds in the title, t give hyphenatin cues, s that it can be displayed crrectly n narrw width displays such as mbiles. e.g. Sunderland Mnkwearmuth wuld be entered as Sunderland Mnkwear-muth Leave this field blank if it desn t apply t yur Crps name. 5

6 Banner Banner Image As yu have seen n yur page, there is a large image at the tp. Yu can replace this picture with an image that represents yur Church. Due t nature f design pictures have t be landscape and at a pixel size f 1920 x 528. If yu are unsure abut editing yur banner image please us yur picture t crpsweb@salvatinarmy.rg.uk and we will edit it fr yu. Banner Title The name f the crps. This will appear in big letters ver yur banner image. On the page it will appear in capital letters, but just enter it as nrmal e.g. Wintn Banner Subtitle This is a shrt, snappy tagline that sums up yur Church. If yu can t think f ne then add 'we're here fr yu in yur cmmunity. Bdy This is where yu can put a few sentences abut the crps. It will appear belw the Church heading. It culd be a line r tw taken frm yur missin statement. If yu dn t have anything t put here use Nt nly because yu need smething, but because yu have smething t be thankful fr. 6

7 Rws The rws are where yu put the main infrmatin abut What s On at yur crps. The main rws are Sundays, Weekdays, Events, Music, Prayer and thers have been added such as Charity Shp if applicable. Yu can add and remve rws using the Add anther item and Remve buttns. On the website they will be drp dwn sectins. Rws with n cntent in them will nt display n the webpage. Sundays This is where yu put the time and title f any activity that yu d n a Sunday, which includes Sunday schl grups and bi-weekly/frtnightly events. As yu can see, the infrmatin yu put in has t be a certain frmat t fit the design f the website. The infrmatin shuld be entered in bullet pints. The time f the service shuld be in bld, and the title f the events shuld start with a capital letter. The times and title shuld be in Heading 4. Yu can change this by highlighting the text, pressing the Styles buttn and selecting Heading 4. If yu wuld like t add any extra infrmatin then press enter t add a new bullet pint underneath and press the tab key r t mve it acrss t the next level. This infrmatin shuld be in the Paragraph style. Use these buttns t change the bullet pint level Click here t change the style f the text Events shuld be in heading 4 and the time in bld Extra infrmatin shuld be in paragraph style 7

8 Weekdays This is where yu put the time and title f the activities that happen in the week. Yu will find that we have cpied infrmatin frm the ld website nt the new. We have left ut the charity shp pening times and put them in a separate rw titled Charity Shp. The frmatting is slightly different this time because we have days f the week added in. Again, the infrmatin shuld be in bullet pints here. First yu have the days in Heading 4. The time and titles are belw in Heading 5. The times shuld always be in bld. Any accmpanying inf can g belw and styled as Paragraph. Days f the week are in heading 4 Events are in heading 5 with the time in bld Extra infrmatin shuld be in paragraph style 8

10 Events Yu can uplad any psters fr events int here, r write it in the style f a calendar, it s up t yu. If in the style f a calendar then fllw the Weekdays rw pattern and have a bullet pint list with the Mnths in heading 4, the events in heading 5 with the date in bld, and then any extra infrmatin in paragraph style. If yu want t uplad event psters yu can either embed yur pster int the text r link it as an attachment. T embed int text: Make sure it is saved as a jpeg r png and click n Click n Chse File and uplad yur pster, then click next Select include in library and click save Click submit The image might lk bigger in editing mde but it will be autmatically resized t fit the rw width when viewing the live page Try t avid using landscape pictures as they dn t lk as gd as prtrait T uplad as an attachment: Yu can uplad a pdf versin f yur pster and link it int the text i.e. if yu want peple t print it ff and display it themselves. At the mment we are still wrking n this mechanism but fr nw, it has t be linked frm an external page. S at the mment please crpsweb@salvatinarmy.rg.uk and we will uplad this fr yu. It will lk smething like this: Charity Shp/Cafe If yu have a charity shp/furniture shp/café this is where the pening times shuld g. If yu have any infrmatin abut hw t dnate items t the shp r what the café specials are, then that can g in here t. This is als in a bullet pint frmat with the times in bld. Abve the rws title yu will see ROW LOCATION this is where yu enter the address f the shp/café unless it is lcated at the crps. Then set the Lcatin Categry t Charity Shp r Café etc. Again, at the mment this functin is still being wrked n and s please us at crpsweb@salvatinarmy.rg.uk if yu need t add any lcatins. 10

11 Adding r Remving rws Yu can add r remve rws t fit the needs f yur crps. Fr example, yu culd add a rw fr Prayers r fr any events yu have cming up. At the bttm f the rws sectin yu shuld see the Add anther item buttn: Click n this t add anther rw. T remve a rw simply click n the Remve buttn n the rw yu want t delete. Yu can have as many r as little rws as yu want but remember that t many rws might clg up yur webpage. Grid This is where the names and psitins f yur crps fficers/leaders are shwn. Each persn has a Grid Element sectin. They shuld be in alphabetical rder. Write the fficer s rank r psitin int the Grid element subtitle. If yu have headshts f yur church leaders which are gd quality then uplad them by pressing Select>Chse File>Uplad. Please make sure that the face is in the centre f the pht as due t the design f the page, these will be autmatically crpped int a circle. Aside The aside is the sectin cntaining all media, including yur pht gallery and any embedded yutube vides. By default the pht gallery cntains six stck images that are remved when yu add yur wn phts. 11

12 Editing the Aside pht gallery Expand the Aside and Aside Gallery Image sectins. Press the select buttn and click Chse File n the windw that pens Select and uplad yur image, then click Next. 12

13 If yu wish, enter a shrt descriptin int the Alt Text and Title Text fields. Check Include in library and press Save. The image will appear under Aside Gallery Image 13

14 Adding mre images Click Select n any vacant image slts, r click Add anther item if there are nne available. Add mre images in the same way. 14

15 Cntact Expand the Cntact sectin by clicking n Cntact Lcatin and Mapping Fill ut the fields given in this sectin. The map is autmatically generated t display the lcatin given by the pstal cde using Ggle Maps. Crrecting the map If the map is wrng yu may need t enter the crrect crdinates int the fields belw. Cntact Details These are where yu enter the cntact details fr the crps Cnnect t scial media channels If the crps has a Twitter/Facebk/YuTube/Instagram/Flickr accunt then put the ID/url in relevant fields.
