About Salud! Our Salud! Wine Dinner originated in 2011 when the Board of Directors had the idea to create an evening event that would be bit more formal than the breakfast, but not stuffy. An evening to have friends and supporters gather in a social setting with great food and wine, while supporting the great cause of Gabriel s Angels. Every hour a child in Arizona is neglected or abused Funds raised from About Gabriel s Angels Salud! 2017 provides Gabriel s Angels the following: $3,500 sponsors one Pet Therapy Team for a year $1,500 will provide specialized Individual Intervention Pet Therapy to a child in critical need $500 will supply two Pet Therapy Teams Activity Kits $250 will deliver healing Pet Therapy to 5 children for an entire year
Our History Gabriel s Angels was formed in 2000 out of a pressing and documented need in the community to intervene in the lives of at-risk children and received 501(c) (3) status from the IRS in 2001. Gabriel s Angels has grown to 185 registered Pet Therapy Teams serving approximately 14,600 children annually through 122 partner agencies in Maricopa, Pinal, Pima, Cochise, Santa Cruz and Yavapai Counties in Arizona. Teams visit crisis nurseries, domestic violence and homeless shelters, group homes, and at-risk children in after school programs and self-contained classrooms all in an effort to intervene in children s lives and enhance their emotional and behavioral development by teaching core behaviors attachment, confidence, self-regulation, affiliation, empathy, tolerance, and respect. Historically, services have been provided to groups of children at these agencies. In response to requests from our partner agencies, Gabriel s Angels began a program expansion in 2012 to provide specialized one-on-one services through Individual Interventions. Individual Interventions are now available in metropolitan Phoenix and Tucson.
IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT Gabriel s Angels Gabriel s Angels Pet Therapy Teams work with children from birth to age 18. Gabriel s Angels Pet Therapists come in all shapes, sizes and breeds. There is even a rabbit and a miniature horse! It is only $50 per year to fund pet therapy for one child. Each Therapy Team reaches 80 100 children each year. Gabriel s Angels is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 2000 Currently over 14,600 children are visited by Gabriel s Angels Pet Therapy Teams About Gabriel s Angels Pet Therapy Teams visit over 122 Arizona child serving agency facilities. $3,500 Pet Therapy works on increasing the 7 core behaviors: Affiliation, Attachment, Confidence, Empathy, Respect, Self-regulation, Tolerance.
