Sivasami Assistant Professor, Department of Library and Information Science, Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar, Tamilnadu, India ABSTRACT This paper discuss on research performance on Aloe Vera publications during 2002 to 2016, The study found that totally 1187 paper have published in this research during the period; among fifteen years in the year 2016 has occupies first position with 15.08 per cent papers, moreover from the year 2002 to 2011 have published lees than 100 papers in this research. It reveals that, the Doubling Time and Relative Growth values indicate, Doubling Time mean value is 1.96. In 2002, the Aloe Vera research publication was 18; gradually the research publications were rise to 179 in the year 2016. The relative growth rate mean is 0.16. The source wise papers published in Aloe Vera research, Journal of Food Science and Technology has occupies first position with 14 papers. It reveals that, India has contributes 370 papers in this research. The author s contribution in Aloe Vera research, Martanez- Romero, D, Serrano, M. Valero, D. has occupies first, second and third position with 13 contributions in this research during the study. Authorship pattern found that, single author papers were less compare with multi author papers. Totally 126 countries contributes in this, among those countries India has contributes 370 papers in this research, Indian has occupies first position. INTRODUCTION There are many plants with interesting pharmaceutical activities but Aloe Vera is probably the most applied medicinal plant worldwide. Since biblical times, aloe has been used for its purgative effect, skin disorders healing and beauty treatments. Aloe possesses numerous activities including, anticancer, antioxidant, antimicrobial, antiallergic, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, hepatoprotective, antiulcer and antidiabetic (Sanchez-Machado, Dalia I. et al., 2017). Aloe Vera has found wide applications in the cosmetics and nutraceutical industry. The plant material is used as fundamental ingredient in food and cosmetics products after processing in the form of gel and juice. Aloe gel contains mannose polymers with http://www.iaeme.com/ijlis/index.asp 60 editor@iaeme.com

Aloe Vera is well known for its considerable medicinal properties. This plant is one of the richest natural sources of health for human beings coming (Maharjan H.RadhaNampoothiri P.Laxmipriya 2015). Aloe Vera treatment of wounds in diabetic rats may enhance the process of wound healing by influencing phases such as inflammation, fibroplasia, collagen synthesis and maturation, and wound contraction. These effects may be due to the reported hypoglycemic effects of the aloe gel (Chithra, P. Sajithlal, G.B. Gowri Chandrakasan, 1998). 2. MATERIALS AND METHODS The data have been collected from the Scopus database; the study period is during (1992-2016). The search string was used Aloe Vera in the Title search box, field were used, the time span field were select from 2002 to 2016. A total of 1187 records were retrieved, the data downloaded and analyzed using MS office -Excel as per objectives of the present study. This study helps to find in Aloe Vera research publications. 3. RELATIVE GROWTH RATE (RGT) AND DOUBLING TIME The Relative Growth Rate is the number of publications/pages per unit of time. Hence, one year is taken as the unit of time. The mean relative growth rate R (1-2) over a specified period of interval can be calculated from the following equation suggested by Mahapatra (1985). Where, R = Mean relative growth rate over the specify period of interval W1 = log W1 (Natural log of initial number of publications/ pages) W2 = log W2 (Natural log of initial number of publications/ pages) T2-T1 = Unit difference between the initial time and final time. Therefore, R (a) = relative growth rate per unit per of publication per unit of time (year) R (p) = relative growth rate per unit per of pages per unit of time (year The corresponding Doubling time for publications and pages can be calculated by using the following formula: Therefore, http://www.iaeme.com/ijlis/index.asp 61 editor@iaeme.com
