General Information Course Description The Georgia Association promotes excellence in sleep medicine, education, research, and public health while advocating for sleep professionals across the state. This year s symposium will bring together local and national leaders in sleep medicine and sleep technology. Learners will leave the activity with enhanced knowledge about cuttingedge topics in the field, including sleep center management, dental sleep medicine, legal aspects of sleep telemedicine, and treating sleep disorders in special populations. Target Audience This activity will benefit anyone working in the sleep disorders field, including technologists, physicians, advanced care practitioners, psychologists, dentists, and trainees in each of these areas. Learning Objectives Upon completion of this education activity, learners should be able to: n Identify the side effects of oral appliance therapy and potential solutions to side effects; n Discuss strategies and treatments for patients with refractory hypersomnolence; n Explain legal considerations in telemedicine and drowsy driving; n Explain the characteristics of sleep in geriatric patients; n List appropriate treatments of sleep disorders in women; n Summarize the latest development in CPAP mask customization through 3D printing. Continuing Education Credit The designates this live activity for a maximum of 12.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Polices of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of School of Medicine and the Georgia Association. The is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Symposium Location All sessions will be held at the Emory Conference Center Hotel, 1615 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA 30329. Registration The registration fee includes continuing education credits, course materials, a catered dinner (Friday registration), continental breakfast (Saturday registration), a buffet lunch (Saturday registration) and breaks and other amenities involved to ensure a rewarding learning experience. We will refund your registration fee if written cancellation is received no later than September 23, 2017. No refunds will be made after September 23, 2017. The liability of Emory University and GASP is limited to the registration fee. Emory will not be responsible for any losses incurred by registrants, including but not limited to airfare cancellation or hotel deposits.
