Welcome to the web site of the Gravesend Branch of the Referees Association. Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month (except June & July) at: The Borough of Gravesend Conservative Club Gravesend Kent DA12 1EW Meetings start at 7.45pm. All members and non members are welcome. Gravesend Branch Referees Association is established to help, support, assist and promote in the training, progression and retention of all local referees at various levels of the football ladder. To become a member either click on the membership tab and follow the details or attend one of our meetings where this can be completed. Our meetings are a social occasion where like minded people discuss all aspects of football and refereeing. After a brief formal session covering business details of the Branch and local activities, the main part of the meeting consists of a guest speaker or group discussion topics or extension of training and problem corner. Our supplies officer is in attendance where kit, boots, flags and ancillary items can be purchased at competitive rates. The Gravesend Branch also organises various social events ~ dinner dances, quizzes (both refereeing and general knowledge), Christmas party, car rallies, cricket, small sided football etc. So don t hesitate whether a prospective referee or already qualified we look forward to welcoming you to our Branch to enjoy the hobby of Refereeing Association Football.

The Gravesend Referees association is here to help all prospective and current referees in the local area progress within the great game of Association Football. Membership to the Gravesend Branch also includes membership to the Referees Association, the Kent Referees Association as well as Referee Association medical and property insurance. Current membership costs 34.50 (under 18 years of age 24.00). Our supplies officer is on hand to insure you look smart and well presented. The Branch offer this service as a non profit making exercise, allowing our members all the benefits we obtain as an organisation. Alternatively you can order direct from the respective supplier but you will not receive any discounts. Advise what you wish to order 2. Supplies Officer will contact the supplier you wish to order your kit from and then confirm the cost including postage 3. Once cost is advised you need to submit cheque (made payable to KRA Gravesend Branch ) or cash to the Supplies Officer and advise address where kit should be delivered

Our Supplies Officer (or deputy) will always be in attendance at Branch meetings where the above details can also be covered Whether you use the Branch or go direct, our priority is to offer you an efficient and simple method to be well turned out and make a good first impression. Please note there are dictates laid down by the Football Association regarding the use of certain kits and colours, so be sure to check with the Supplies Officer what you propose to purchase will be acceptable to your sphere of officiating.

PAGE The Gravesend Branch is very proud of its historic roots and below are a few milestones that have seen us grow and flourish. On 4 th July 1946, thirteen Referee s assembled at The Victory Public House, Clarence Street, Gravesend and formed The Gravesend Branch of the Kent County Society of Association Referees. At the end of the first season: Income was 7-13sh-6d ( 7:67p) Expenditure 6-15sh-2d ( 6:76p) Giving a balance of 18sh-4d (:91p) With a total of 22 members. At the end of the 1996-1997 season: Income was 9550:44 Expenditure 10,043:41 Giving a balance of 2,218:52 With a total of104 members. This was the introductory statement made as the Gravesend Branch celebrated its 50 th Anniversary.
