Breast Cancer Management 2017 Overview This program will review the controversies in breast cancer screening and highlight new imaging modalities. Emphasis will be given on issues related to management of DCIS, prevention and minimizing breast surgery. New advances will be highlighted including new options for breast reconstruction, use of immunotherapy in breast cancer and personalized breast cancer treatments. Active areas of most promising research and clinical trials will be discussed. The format of this program will consist of lectures with panel discussions. Radiology, medical oncology, genetics, surgery, plastic surgery, pathology, and radiation oncology will present areas of clinical relevance and current controversies will be highlighted. Target Audience This program has been designed for primary care physicians, obstetricians, gynecologists, internists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, gynecological oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiologists, nurses, and any other clinicians involved in the management and treatment of patients with breast cancer. Learning Objectives Describe new breast cancer screening modalities Define controversies in the diagnosis and management of DCIS Identify methods for minimizing breast surgery Define immunotherapy and uses in breast cancer Explain new advances in breast reconstructive surgery Recognize targeted systemic therapy to individualize treatment Appreciate the role of diet and exercise in breast cancer risk and outcome
