About the Sixth International Conference on Traffic and Transport Psychology (ICTTP) QUT s Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety Queensland (CARRS-Q) and Griffith University s Menzies Health Institute Queensland welcome you to the Sixth International Conference on Traffic and Transport Psychology (ICTTP) which will be held in Brisbane, Australia, 2-5 August 2016. This will be the first time an ICTTP has been held in the Southern Hemisphere, and only the second time outside of Europe. With a theme of UN Decade of Action For Road Safety: The Half-way Point, the conference will feature a strong program of keynote speakers, oral and poster presentations, workshops and symposia. The Conference will be a global forum at which all those involved in traffic and transport psychology, human factors, cognition and behaviours, road safety research, policy, education, enforcement and injury prevention, can meet with researchers, academics, and professionals to discuss and present on the latest work being undertaken in these areas. 2011 saw the commencement of the UN Decade of Action, a worldwide initiative bringing together over 70 countries in a united effort to reduce traffic crashes and the global road toll. By 2016, the Decade will have reached its halfway point and it will be important to not only reflect on the global achievements already made, but to re-focus our energies on ensuring that it truly is a Decade of Action and not just a decade of the same. ICTTP will bring the Decade of Action to Brisbane in a very dynamic way, with over 300 traffic psychologists, researchers, and safety experts meeting to discuss and showcase the latest findings in international programs, policy, and development. An update on world-wide developments, key geographic regions of emerging issues and at risk populations will be provided by international and national speakers. The objective of this conference is to facilitate interaction between all people working in the field of traffic and transport psychology, with a special emphasis on building collaborative links between early and more experienced researchers.
