CAFE members have the following characteristics: 59% are CEO, President, Owner /Founder or the Chairman within their family business 46% are the second generation within the family business 60% male, 40% female; average 51 years old; 80% are married with children 64% have a university degree or higher CAFE family businesses have the following characteristics: Privately held company owned and managed by a family Multi-generational business in existence for an average of 44 years Employ an average of 127 employees with at least 2 family members in senior management 40% have annual gross sales greater than 10 million dollars; 23% are 21 million 46% have family business net worth of 5 million; 10% $25 million

ABOUT CAFE CAFE is a national not-for-profit organization established in 1983 with the mandate to promote the well-being, understanding and success of families in business. Through chapters across Canada, CAFE provides services and support to 890 businesses comprised of approximately 2,500 family business owners, shareholders, family business members, managers and professional advisors. At CAFE, our focus is on facilitating peer support and knowledge sharing through our peer groups (PAGs), workshops, seminars, conferences, and online education and resources in our E- Learning Center.
