We re a force of life-savers GIVE RED FOR NZ.

GIVE RED FOR NZ.

When you join Team Red, you re in incredible company Our goal is to unite groups and organisations like yours to create a powerful social movement. Team Red gives you the opportunity to help save lives with your friends and colleagues. A group blood donation programme brought to you by New Zealand Blood Service, it is open to any workplace or group that wants to do something amazing and contribute to their community. We know you and your team are busy. That s why we make it easy to fit donation in around your workday with a shuttle service or workplace blood drive. Saving lives feels amazing, but joining Team Red and supporting your local community has other benefits too like improving your organisation s reputation, generating positive publicity, and giving your colleagues a sense of pride. Feeling inspired yet? *Colmar Brunton s Better Futures Report 2016

How does it work? To join Team Red, all you need is three people who are keen and eligible to donate blood to roll up their sleeves to donate. We can help you get started by running a What s My Type? event at your workplace. A quick finger prick will tell you your own blood type so you can find out the blood types of people you can help save. From there we will help you organise donation days for your team as well as offer a free pickup and drop off service at your nearest blood donation centre or blood drive. If you have a larger team (80+) who are eligible to donate, we could even run a mobile blood drive on your site for extra convenient life-saving. Find out if you re eligible to give blood at: www.nzblood.co.nz or call 0800 448 325

Giving blood is one of the most powerful donations you can make It doesn t cost you a cent, but for those whose lives you affect, it s priceless. We often think blood transfusions are reserved for people who have been in an accident. But really, the vast majority of blood products go towards helping those affected by cancer and serious illnesses, pregnant women, children and newborn babies. Thank you! Your blood donation has gone on to help save a life. One single blood donation can help save the lives of up to three people. So when you become a blood donor, you become a real-life superhero. Download the NZBS Donor App and we ll notify you any time your blood is used to help save someone s life!

Sue s story Sue relies on Evogam, a blood product made from plasma, to manage an immune deficiency. It has made an enormous difference to her life. Quite simply, she is no longer sick. Organising a Team Red group of 34 student donors is her way to say thank you and give back.

Peter s story Peter Harwood has needed 230 blood transfusions to help him fight blood cancer and a rare blood condition. A few years ago Peter started a bucket list of things he wanted to do when he got better. Thanks to the kind donations of strangers, Peter has been able to tick things off that list, including a tandem skydive from 16,500ft and parasailing at 1,200ft in Paihia. GIVE RED FOR NZ.
