ABOUT G-I-N Guidelines International Network (G-I-N) is a global network, founded in 2002. Its mission is to lead, strengthen and support collaboration and work within the guideline development, adaptation and implementation community. G-I-N facilitates networking and supports the creation of high quality clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) that foster safe and effective patient care. It has grown to comprise 99 organisational and 139 individual members representing 48 countries from all continents (June 2017). The network supports evidence-based health care and aims to improve health outcomes by reducing inappropriate variation throughout the world. CONFERENCE THEME WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO THE PURPOSE AND IMPACT OF GUIDELINES CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS A wide range of stakeholders will attend G-I-N 2018, including professionals in the fields of evidence-based practice, evidence synthesis, guideline development and implementation, quality improvement, performance measurement, health services research, public health, health care policy, utilisation review, clinical administration, and clinical care. Participants will include prominent policymakers, leading academic researchers, and key staff from top UK organisations and around the world. The Conference will also provide a unique opportunity for students and trainees to learn, network and develop vital skills in guideline development, assessment, implementation, and dissemination. G-I-N 2018 is an exciting opportunity for all those who work with guidelines in health and social care to come together; from development and methodology through to implementation and evaluation. The event will host discussions on a range of issues including the benefits of guidelines for patients and how guidelines can support shared decision making, to addressing variations in care. It will be an exciting opportunity to reflect on what peers are doing in the field of evidence-based practice, what challenges we face in the digital age, and the role that guidelines play in driving and enabling high quality care. Over 500 cross discipline delegates are expected to attend. This is an exceptional opportunity to engage with the guideline community. THE G-I-N 2018 SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE IS COMPRISED OF LEADERS OF THE GUIDELINE WORLD AND INCLUDES REPRESENTATIVES FROM AROUND THE GLOBE. Feedback from last year s conference has been extremely positive: SPONSOR Hosting G-I-N 2016 was a unique opportunity to welcome to our campus a diverse and distinguished group of global leaders in guideline development and implementation. Through our platinum sponsorship of the opening reception, we showcased one of the University s most renowned destinations, the Penn Museum, while kicking off the conference in style. Throughout the conference, participants shared their admiration for the history and beauty of the museum and the Penn campus, and described how much they enjoyed the reception. We felt honoured to start the meeting on such a high note. G-I-N MEMBER The G-I-N conference provides a great way to connect with lots of guideline developers in a place that makes networking easy. Having been to many professional conferences, I think this is one of the best opportunities to meet people who are so influential in producing guidelines for clinical practice. Brian S. Alper, MD, MSPH, FAAFP Founder of DynaMed Vice President of Innovations and Evidence-Based Medicine Development, EBSCO Health FIRST TIME EXHIBITOR A number of our customers suggested G-I-N 2016 as a great opportunity to connect with more members of the guideline community. They were right - we got to meet many current DistillerSR users in person, learn more about their needs, and make valuable new contacts.
