MYO/WIRE Temporary Cardiac Pacing Wires SMOOTH INSULATION A single layer of extruded insulation provides the smoothest coating used among cardiac pacing wires. This reduces tissue trauma on insertion and removal. MULTIFILAMENT STAINLESS STEEL WIRE Forty-nine braided strands of 316 stainless steel wire provide excellent flexibility, strength, conductivity and corrosion resistance. This flexible construction assists in atraumatic implantation and removal of wire from the patient. COLOR CODING OF WIRE INSULATION Choice of three wire insulation colors: orange, light orange and white. coding can assist the hospital personnel in the identification of implanted wires. CUSTOM KITS Up to four pacing wires can be packaged into a single sterile pouch at no premium in price to meet the specific needs of surgeons in your hospital (minimum 10 box order). INTERRUPTED ELECTRODE STYLES Two styles, M-25 and M-26, have 13.0mm 2 of electrode surface exposed two inches from the curved needle to permit complete implantation of bare wire in the myocardium. This reduces the possibility of ionization and the need to adjust threshold levels post-operatively. SNAP OFF KEITH NEEDLE Sharp Keith needle is easily broken off at the groove in the shaft thereby eliminating the need to cut the needle with wire cutters. Robicsek Atrial Temporary Cardiac Pacing Electrode. Six millimeter diameter bare tapered wire loop. Place suture snug but not tight around neck of electrode. INDIFFERENT LEAD An eight inch ground or indifferent electrode is designed to be implanted in subcutaneous tissue. A special curved cutting needle permits this subcutaneous electrode placement. This electrode can eliminate the need for an indifferent electrode in the heart. Available in 8 and 24 lengths. Cat. No. 027-525 MYO/KLIP Connection System The MYO/KLIP connector provides a closed system from the myocardium to the pacing equipment. These connectors: 1. Protect the proximal end of the temporary pacing wire from body fluids, 2. Electrically insulate the electrode connector, 3. Provide a reliable and convenient connector to the MYO/LEAD. Sealing Plug U.S. Patent 4,442,840 Connector Body MYO/WIRE Snap-off Needle Locking End Cap Cat. Nos. 019-510 (sterile) 019-511 (non-sterile) MYO/KLIP Assembly Instructions 1. Snap off the Keith needle by gripping the needle on either side of the groove and bending it with a brisk motion. Discard the sharp portion of the needle. 2. Insert the needle shank portion into the aperture at the back end of the connector body as far as it will go. Bend the protruding wire at right angles as shown above. MYO/LEAD Extension Cord The MYO/LEAD cable accepts the MYO/KLIP connector at one end and plugs into the pacing equipment on the other. It allows monitoring and pacing equipment to be located in a remote position. To connect the electrode to the pacing equipment, simply remove the sealing plug and insert the connector into the MYO/LEAD cable. This cable is available in 6 lengths with choice of two temporary pacing unit connectors. 3. Lock the end cap into position by forcing the tabs up against the back end of the connector body and aligning them with the corresponding grooves in the connector body. Force the two pieces together so that the locking tabs spread outward then pop into place. The end is now hermetically sealed. 4. Insert the sealing plug into the open end of the connector body to hermetically seal it when the connector is not in use.
