Office Gynecology/ Women s Health for Primary Care In the current era of spiraling medical costs with growing emphasis on the provision of cost-effective medical care, it has become increasingly important for primary care physicians to be adept at evaluating and treating ambulatory gynecologic problems. This four-day symposium provides the participant with a practical, clinical update on a full range of women s health issues including the diagnosis and management of common gynecologic complaints, contraception, endocrine disorders, and the menopause. In-depth, small group workshops are included which instruct and allow participants to develop and refine their skills with endometrial biopsy, colposcopy and the intrauterine contraceptive device. Following completion of this program, participants should be able to: discuss the differential diagnosis and management of common gynecological disorders recognize the different contraceptive methods available and know how to prescribe them discuss common problems seen in the menopause and how to effectively manage them recognize and manage common women s health issues, including depression, type 2 diabetes and obesity
