PrOgrAM DEsCrIPtIOn this full-day annual symposium provides clinicians in the tri-state community with a comprehensive update of treatment approaches to the diagnosis and management of movement disorders. A broad spectrum of diseases including Parkinson's disease (motor and non-motor symptoms), atypical parkinsonian conditions, chorea, tremor, dystonia, tardive dyskinesia, and tics/tourette Syndrome will be addressed. through video review, didactic lecture, and interactive discussions with expert clinicians, attendees will learn about current medical and cutting-edge diagnostic and management options including local injections of botulinum toxin and deep brain stimulation (dbs). LEArnIng ObjECtIvEs management options. Identify the spectrum of tardive dyskinesia symptoms and discuss Formulate an assessment for the patient with tics or Tourette Syndrome. recognize the clinical syndrome of dystonia, list current treatment approaches including local injections of botulinum toxin, and discuss new therapies currently in study. devise an appropriate management strategy for the patient with advancing Parkinson s disease. Identify the non-motor symptoms of Parkinson s disease and design an appropriate management plan. describe an appropriate movement disorder candidate for DBS (deep brain stimulation) surgical intervention.
