Partners: Some industry members and Universidad Javeriana. STRATEGY OF REDUCTION SODIUM INTAKE Objective: Give scientific support to implement a policy about reduction of sodium intake Partners: Colombian Ministry of Health, U. de La Sabana, U. Javeriana

Obesity PRELIMINARY INTERVENTION PROJECT ON OVERWEIGHT AND OBESITY PREVENTION IN SCHOOLS Objective: Implement a strategy to promote healthy habits in the diet and physical activity in the prevention of overweight and obesity in schools. Partners: Some industry members. Planned Outputs: Show to the Ministry of Health the current levels of added nutrients to foods.

Nutrition Activities 2012 WORKSHOPS ON NUTRITIONAL FOOD LABELING Objective: Give scientific support to the government sector on nutritional food labeling Partners: National Committee of Codex in Ecuador, Universidad de San Francisco, ACTA Planned Outputs: Work together government, academia and industry HOW TO READ A NUTRITIONAL LABEL Objective: Collaborates in the information, education and communication of the reading of the nutritional facts in the food label Planned Outputs: Through the special tool give the best way to read nutritional information.

Biotechnology WORKSHOPS ON NUTRITIONAL IMPROVEMENT THROUGH BIOTECHNOLOGY Objective: Contribute to the dissemination of scientific knowledge of nutritional improvement in the foods derived from GMOs. Partners: AgroBio, Acofanud, Ministry of Health. Planned Outputs: Give scientific knowledge about the safety of nutritional improvement of food derived of genetic modification. Target: mostly nutritionist This workshop will be replicated in some cities in Colombia with the support of academia ( Cartagena U. Sinú, Barranquilla U. Atlántico Bucaramanga UIS, Medellín U. Antioquia, Bogotá U. Javeriana/ U. Nacional.
