In May 2013 the percentage of NHS Choices traffic made up by visits to dementia content was 0.41%. The spike between Oct 2012 and Jan 2013 is due to the dementia campaign, the dotted line on the above graph shows the traffic to dementia content excluding the campaign pages. Visits jumped significantly during October 2012 when they reached 187,116, which was 161% higher than the previous month. Visited remained elevated during November, before another jump in January 2013, when peak visits of 250,245 were recorded. Aside from an overall uplift in NHS Choices site traffic, the areas to see significant changes in visits during October and November 2012 were the dementia campaign and live well dementia pages. From March 2013, visits to these popular areas fell significantly which accounts for the drop in traffic after that. March/April 2013 saw the launch of the new dementia guide which replaced the dementia conditions pages. In May 2013 visits to the pages within the guide totalled 95,056 which was a 92% increase compared with visits to the dementia conditions pages in May 2012. Most dementia-related visits were to content in the treatments and conditions area of NHS Choices, followed by video.
