Who is IFDA IFDA provides its members with the tools and resources to enhance their businesses. We welcome members from every facet of the furnishings and design industry. Members are executives and companies professionally engaged in the design, production, distribution, promotion, communication or education in the furnishings and design and/or related industries. Our AZ chapter is focused on making a difference with local businesses and charities to improve our community overall. What Is Take A Seat? Take A Seat is an ongoing project of the International Furnishings and Design Association (IFDA). Our chapters from around the world work together to conduct local exhibitions with the majority of the net proceeds benefitting Helping Heroes At Home. In each community, members of the furnishings and design industry creatively re-imagine ordinary chairs, turning them into works of art. We display the chairs for your enjoyment during a free exhibition. Each chapter works with their community to select the location. At the exhibition close, we conduct an auction. The proceeds benefit local charities chosen by each chapter and support chapter professional development. The chairs are crafted locally by design professionals and students who volunteer their time and their chairs to support a local charity. Who is the AZ Chapter s charity? We are proud to announce that we continue to support our local community and have recommitted to Military Assistance Mission for our fourth event. MAM s founder, Margy Bon, has a moving personal story that fuels her passion to help the enlisted men and women that work so hard at maintaining our great country s freedom. As a group, it is really important for us to select organizations for our charitable work where we can make a significant positive impact. Last year we contributed $22,000 and with almost 90% of funds raised going straight to help local families, we did just that! Your support will allow us to help so many more. Take A Seat Event Overview Kick-Off Party: April 18 th This is a private event for chair designers, IFDA Members, event Patrons and press/media and will be the first public unveiling of the chairs. Exhibition: April 19 th May 2 nd, 2018 We are excited to announce that Scottsdale Fashion Square will be hosting our exhibition on the lower level near Harkin s Movie Theaters. This exhibition is open to the public where they can learn about the event, the charity and the chair designers. Gala Auction Event: May 3 rd, 2018 The live auction is open to the public and emceed by news anchor Nicole Crites with the auction conducted by Josh Levine of J. Levine s Auction and Appraisal. This black tie ticketed event will be held at the Legacy Ballroom and include a cocktail hour with delicious catered food, additional silent auction items and a small program to start the live auction. What s In It For You This is an amazing marketing opportunity to show your community support for the furnishings and design industry, as well as our charity recipient! Our Gala Auction event is open to the public and publicized over various social and local media outlets. Luxe Magazine is our exclusive Media Patron and together with Scottsdale Fashion Square, they send out several e-blasts to their database, as well as showcase the event on their respective websites. In addition to the exhibition signage, we ll have table tents and digital signs at the food court at Scottsdale Fashion Square during the exhibition. How Can You Help? Gala Auction Event May 3 rd - We are seeking Patrons at all levels to cover the venue cost, catering and bar tab. And, of course, we d love to have you and your friends join us for this fun-filled evening!
