What we do.. Market St CWS provides support through a range of group, peer & one to one activities to support mental wellbeing, recovery & social inclusion. The Service is based in Magherafelt and also uses local community, voluntary and/or leisure facilities in the area. A range of activities are on offer including - 6-8 week short courses, & longer term time college courses with a focus on - learning new skills, promoting personal development & self-esteem, enhancing recovery, developing creativity, making connections/social supports and developing physical health and wellbeing. The role of Market Street is to walk along-side members on their recovery journey offering support and learning that enables personal decision making, self advocacy and self belief, providing opportunities for members and staff to come together, to learn together, and to feel part of something positive, worthwhile and fulfilling. Yoga and Relaxation Improves mobility of joints and relaxes muscular tension and emotional stress. Yoga is beneficial if you want to relax, need to de-stress, improve your fitness and look after your joints. The class is carried out by a trained instructor. Practice a variety of breathing techniques to promote calm in both body and mind. Using the breathing techniques as the basis for meditation you will learn a range of relaxation and meditation techniques. As a group you will practice basic guided meditations and mindful activities to help you switch off from the stresses in your life and increase your general wellbeing. This is beneficial, promoting relaxation of mind and body, promoting mindfulness and self awareness, calming anxiety and lowering stress levels. 2 Join us at Market Street Friday 10.30am to 12.30am 15

When you feel good you laugh, share, create, engage and inspire those around you. Good company is a positive notion, it means you are with good people, who will work with you on good things. cooking skills coming soon. 1. Math Skills: Doubling a recipe requires addition and/ or multiplication skills. 2. Reading and Understanding: Step by Step directions, adding ingredients in sequence and techniques such as folding and blending are all important components to yielding the finished food product. 3. Real Life Science: Cooking is a science experiment. Too much salt, baking powder, not enough flour, or the wrong timing can mean you have a flop on your hands. Cooking provides an opportunity for you to get hands-on experience with basic science. 4. Self-Esteem: Learning a new skill such as baking or cooking is known to help self-esteem. 5. Communication: A relaxed atmosphere in the kitchen offers an opportunity to talk about anything. 6. Life skills: Cooking is a life skill, much like driving a car, learning to read or swim. 7. Fun!: Last but not least, cooking is fun! Having fun in the kitchen builds positive memories, good vibes and good food. coming soon. be inspired to become a co-facilitator young people s group This group is centred around recovery based activity for young people to increase their sense of belonging in the community as well as their sense of wellbeing. Taking part in co-facilitation can improve your focus and concentration levels, help you to calm your mind, help you to reduce stress levels and increase your self esteem and sense of achievement. A variety of activities take place including Pool Tournaments, art, games and cooking. This group has disability access and is suitable for all ages and abilities. We motivate you to embrace hope and opportunity and we empower you to use helpful coping strategies to gain control over your life. Support is tailored to you and your needs member led group Come along on a Tuesday morning and enjoy the company of others in the comfort of the centre within a member-led session. Members can partake in various activities including gardening, reading, watching TV, a cup of coffee, games, jigsaws or an activity of their choosing. Tuesday evening club A social group held in the evening time for people of all ages and abilities. Includes various activities such as cinema outings, games, crafts, cooking, nail art, walks, pool playing and many more. creative art If you are a beginner or an experienced artist, this group will challenge you to create art to your own ability. Use painting techniques freely to express yourself through colour, shape, brushstrokes and your imagination. The sessions will encourage you to use art as a tool to calm your mind and provide distraction techniques to help you develop coping skills.
