DIRECTIONS FOR USE IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the product label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product. FURY 10 EW insecticide is an oil in water emulsion formulation of zeta-cypermethrin with contact and ingestion action against a range of pests of Potatoes, Wheat, Barley, Oats, Oilseed rape, Linseed, Peas, Beans and Sugar beet. CONSULT PROCESSORS BEFORE USE ON CROPS GROWN FOR PROCESSING RESISTANCE To ensure the maximum and prolonged effectiveness and to minimize the likelihood of resistant strains of pests developing, it is recommended that a non-pyrethroid insecticide is incorporated into annual spray programmes. Control may be reduced where strains of pest resistant to zeta-cypermethrin develop. Strains of some aphid species are resistant to many aphicides. Where aphids resistant to products containing cypermethrin occur, FURY 10 EW is unlikely to give satisfactory control. Repeat treatments are likely to result in lower levels of control. RATES OF USE AND PESTS CONTROLLED Crop Pest Rate Wheat Barley BYDV Transmitting aphids (Bird Cherry and Grain aphids) 150 ml/ha Oats Summer aphids (Bird Cherry, Grain, Rose Grain & Fescue aphids) Linseed Flax Flea beetle, large Flax Flea beetle 100 ml/ha Oilseed rape Cabbage Stem Flea beetle, Pollen beetle, Pod midge, 100 ml/ha Seed weevil, Flea beetle Peas Pea aphid, Pea weevil, Pea moth 150 ml/ha Beans Bean weevil 150 ml/ha Potatoes Cutworm 125 ml/ha Sugar beet Cutworm 125 ml/ha SPRAY QUALITY Apply FURY 10 EW as a MEDIUM spray as defined in the BCPC system. WATER VOLUME Wheat, Barley, Oats, Oilseed rape, Linseed, Peas and Field beans: 200 to 300 litres per hectare. The higher volume should be used when the crop is dense to ensure adequate coverage. Potatoes and Sugar beet (Cutworm control): 600-1000 litres per hectare. In all cases do not use less than the minimum volume of water specified.

MIXING Half fill the tank with water and add the required quantity of FURY 10 EW. Fill up the sprayer tank agitating continuously to ensure thorough mixing and continue agitation until spraying is complete. Use only clean water for mixing. CROPS AND TIMING Wheat, Barley Oats Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus (BYDV) vectors: Apply FURY 10 EW when aphids are first found in the crop or anytime from mid-october to mid-november, depending on the sowing date and risk of infection. Crops at greater risk are those sown early, sown after grass or in areas with a history of BYDV. In early drilled crops, or in mild conditions, a second spray may be required. Summer aphid control: Apply FURY 10 EW once the treatment threshold has been reached. Oilseed rape Cabbage Stem Flea beetle control: Apply FURY 10 EW in the Autumn when feeding damage is first seen. A second treatment should be made when economic threshold levels of larvae are present (usually 3-5 weeks later). If adult damage is not apparent the first treatment should be made when economic threshold levels of larvae are present. Pollen beetle control: Apply FURY 10 EW between green and yellow bud stage when pest numbers reach economic thresholds. Pod midge/seed weevil control: Apply FURY 10 EW at anytime before the end of flowering as soon as pest numbers reach the economic threshold. Best results are obtained after pod set but before 80% petal fall from applications of FURY 10 EW. A useful reduction of Mealy Cabbage Aphid is also achieved. Flea beetle control: FURY 10 EW can cause some reduction in adult feeding damage. Apply FURY 10 EW when feeding damage (as shot-holes ) is first seen. Linseed Flax Flea beetle and Large Flax Flea beetle control: FURY 10 EW can cause some reduction in adult feeding damage. Apply FURY 10 EW when feeding damage (as shot-holes ) is first seen. Field beans, Vining and Combining peas Pea and Bean weevil: During early stages of crop development severe damage to the growing points should be treated. In high pressure situations or on sites of severe damage a repeat treatment may be necessary 2-3 weeks after the initial treatment. Where there is a history of severe weevil damage, a first application made at the first sign of adult attack (leaf notching) may be beneficial in some situations. Pea moth (Peas only): Apply FURY 10 EW according to ADAS/PGRO warnings or as indicated by pheromone traps when economic thresholds are reached. Pea aphid (Peas only) When FURY 10 EW is applied to control Pea moth, it will also partially control aphids. Sugar beet and Potatoes Cutworm: Apply at egg hatch and repeat no sooner than 10 days later.
