This unit will support them in preparing for work in a supervised placement. Understand how the major counselling approaches explain human development 2. Understand how the major counselling approaches relate to own thoughts, feelings and behaviours ASSESSMENT CRITERIA The learner can: 1.1. Clarify the different theories and approaches to human development 1.2. Compare different theories of human development 1.3. Compare how different theories impact upon counselling practice 2.1. Understand the importance of issues of difference and diversity in the practice of counselling ASSESSMENT CRITERIA The learner can: 3.1. Review ways in which issues of difference and diversity may influence the counselling relationship and process 4.2.
