, AUSTRIA WHY DO WE NEED SHORT IMPLANTS? COURSE LEADER Prof. Dr. Mauro Marincola, Prof. Dr. Dr. Rolf Ewers DATES 2018 May, 4 + 5 / November, 16 + 17 LANGUAGE English

In the past decade, the topic of short implants ( 10 mm ) and ultrashort implants ( 6 mm) has been controversial with regard to their long term stability and survival; however, there is a wealth of data showing that when bestowed with certain design features, short and ultrashort implants have comparable long term stability and survival rates as conventional implants ( 10 mm). But what are the benefits of using short or ultrashort implants? One major benefit that short and ultrashort implants provide is that they reduce the need for costly and time consuming bone augmentation procedures such as sinus lifts, sinus grafts, vertical distraction osteogenesis, onlay block transplants, and Horseshoe Le Fort osteotomies. Located at the CMF Institute in Vienna, Austria, this two-day course will thoroughly examine the theoretical background and benefits of the Bicon implant system, and provide in-depth training in their application and use. The first day of the course covers the theory, background, and philosophy of the Bicon implant system. The topics discussed on the first day lays the groundwork for the second day, where participants will see theory put into practice by observing Professors Rolf Ewers and Mauro Marincola operate on extremely complex cases. During the second day, some participants will be given the opportunity to assist during surgery; others will have a front-row seat to the procedures, as they are televised live and presented in the comfort of the classroom. Whether you are an experienced clinician or a new practitioner, this course is recommended for anyone looking to incorporate the cutting edge of implant advancements into his or her practice. We hope you join us for this comprehensive introduction to the Bicon implant system! COURSE LEADERS Prof. Dr. Mauro MARINCOLA Prof. Dr. Dr. Rolf EWERS
