Welcome! Thank you for considering me to be your childminder it means so much to me and I am so looking forward to getting to know you and you to know me... This welcome pack compliments the information on my website which gives up to date information on all aspects of my business... so please look on www.childminderruncorn.com regularly as I update the site once a week and it has lots of exciting pictures and news about what we do during the week at Nannie Lee s. In addition to my website I produce a newsletter with all up and coming events on and other information about once a month. So I ll leave you to browse and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me. With love

Mission Statement As a registered childminder I endeavour to work together with parents and carers to provide all children in my care with a safe, loving, home-like environment where every one feels valued. Respect towards self, others and environment will always be emphasised. I always aim to provide a quality, caring environment where standards are high, independence can be developed and where there is a wealth of learning through play, to help the children in my care achieve their goals and promote self-esteem.

Liana in a nutshell Thank you for considering me to look after your precious little one (or little ones). I thought I d give you an insight about myself and what I hope I can give your family as your childminder Even though my name is Liana, every one calls me Lee, universally known as Nanny Lee to the little kids in the village. I am married to Brian who drives very big trucks for a living. I have three grown up children, Carys, Sam and Ruthie, who have all flown the nest... I have two gorgeous grandchildren, Michael and Jack I used to be a teacher. I am a Christian and a regular worshipper at St.John s in Weston. I love scrapbooking and walking by the sea. I value the contribution children make to society. I always feel honoured to be chosen to care for them. I know what it feels like to be a parent, the highs and the lows of it all! I am a good listener and communicator. I am consistent and reliable. I am kind, honest and caring. I am approachable. I have a wealth of experience working with children and families. I have a strict no smoking policy. I value the importance of confidentiality. I am up to date with current child care issues, updating my skills through training. I am not afraid to take new ideas on board. I like to have fun and try new things. I promote equal opportunities and recognise that every child and family is unique. And Wonderful in their own way!

In Nanny Lee s House there is A quiet place to sleep. Lots of lovely toys to play with. Windows we can look out of. A comfy couch to watch TV. A kitchen to cook in. A BIG bathroom with a special little toilet seat just for me! Music and instruments. Songs to be sung. Stories to be read. Drawing and colouring. A cuddle to be had. Laughter to be heard. Tears dried. Total quiet when we ve all gone home!

Money Talk As I am an OFSTED registered childminder, fully insured and inspected regularly, this may entitle you to claim for help with your childcare so it s worth ringing the tax credit people to see if they can help you. How I work out my fee s I am paid monthly. I calculate what I charge you on a 52 week basis that is : Weekly fee x 52=total 1 Total 1 Minus 4 weeks for my holidays=total 2 Total 2 divided by 12= my monthly charge which is payable on the same date each month, twelve months of the year. Sibling fee s are calculated with discount accordingly. The fee s are charged in advance and a deposit charged at the beginning of the contract. Fee s are still payable for a child s absence due to your own holidays. And now we ve got that out of the way

Nannie Night Nights... Introducing Nannie Night Nights OFSTED Registered childcare for over night care in Nannie Lee s home Having two lovely daughters who are NHS professionals I understand that not everyone works nine to five The solution to shift patterns and childcare overnight care for babies, toddlers and young children in a lovely home environment for a regular or occasional need Full bedtime routine offered A cosy room to sleep in and a nutritious breakfast in the morning Risk Assessment and safety procedures in place An experienced caring professional to take care of all night time needs OFSTED approved A few lines form Nannie Lee... I m really excited about branching out into overnight care when my eldest daughter returned to work as a single mum she often said what would I do without you mum when I have to work long days and night shifts? That got me thinking about all the other shift workers who need some overnight care for their little ones so that is where the concept of Nannie Night Nights was born. Of course I had to apply to OFSTED for the change to my registration they checked all my safety procedures and I had to do a very detailed risk assessment but today they sent me my brand new certificate for overnight care and I m rather pleased! My home is a happy and peaceful environment for a child s bedtime and I will try my very best to stick to any bedtime routine that you may have So if you need overnight care on a regular basis or just occasionally please keep me in mind

I found this poem on the internet and it just about sums up how I feel about my job Poem To Childminding Although I m Not Their mummy I care for them each day. I cuddle, Sing and Read to them, And watch them as they play. I see each new accomplishment, And help them grow and learn, I understand their Language, And listen to their concern. They come to me for comfort, And I wipe away their tears. They proudly show their work to me, I give the loudest cheers! No, I am not their mummy But they make my life a song. I nurture them and keep them safe, Though Maybe not for long. I know some day the time may come, When we will have to part, But I know each child I've cared for is forever in my heart...

Compliments and complaints I hope that you are happy with the service I provide for you and your family. If you find for any reason that you are unhappy with the service I provide, please tell me about it I know that it may seem difficult, but I see it as all part of a good working relationship. I won t take it personally! I would much prefer to know and we can then rectify anything that you have mentioned. But if there is any reason you feel you cannot talk it through with me, you can contact OFSTED. Their address is: OFSTED Piccadilly Gate Store Street Manchester M1 2WD 0300 123 1231 Their website address is www.ofsted.gov.uk If you are happy (and I hope you are!) you could take the time to write down what you like about my service and I could show it to other parents and the OFSTED inspectors when they come to inspect me at home.
