Summary of my ambitions for the EHRA Board membership: To further increase the visibility of cardiac rhythmology as key part of cardiology and of the EHRA as the global world player in this arena. Thanks to decades of working experience across a wide spectrum of healthcare milieus across Europe and North America I have been successful in establishing an efficient up-to-date clinical program in rhythnology in my country. Thanks to this experience I hope to contribute to reducing regional disparities in rhythmology across all ESC countries and around the world. My experience in shaping and developing national societies should be valuable for societies which currently undergo similar transformations. EHRA should offer in these countries strong public support to local key opinion leaders in order to increase arrhythmia awareness both within professional community and general public. My long experience in institutional postgraduate training in cardiology in my country can contribute to EHRA educational activities, especially focused on education of referring physicians.
5. How will you coordinate your EHRA appointment with your daily clinical/research workload? For achieving my goals during my office period I am ready to invest all effort, to sacrifice my free-time and to use my knowledge and language skills to communicate, to increase the comprehensibility and to advance the implementation of EHRA priorities across Europe and the world. A significant part of my daily clinical and teaching workload in the National Cardiovascular Institute will be delegated to my deputy-director and other members of the staff (many EHRA certified rhythmologists) who guarantee the sustainability of quality and quantity and who fully support my present application. The hospital administration has been informed about my ambitions within the EHRA and endorse them. I believe that such managerial organization during the time my potential EHRA position will allow maximal focus on EHRA priorities and will not in any way interfere with the functionality of the Department.
