It included the inpatients care of 10 beds from the 67-bed inpatient unit. On call requirements 1 in 6 span the entire four years program. I went through the radiotherapy units of that time such as conventional X-ray, telecobalt unit, betatron, three

4 4 linear accelerators, whole body irradiation unit and HDR brachytherapy. From dimensional conformal radiotherapy planning was launched using Virtuos (Heidelberg) software. This period also contained elective programs in diagnostic radiology, surgery, head and neck surgery, gynaecology, and internal medicine. At the end of this period I was able to use all the available radiotherapy techniques in all kind of cancer patient. Form that time I was involved too in the financing of the radiation oncology department as the responsible person for the DRG coding of patients as an expert to the NHS and Ministry of Health. Registrar /Senior registrar After specializing in radiation oncology I worked in different positions partly in the inpatient service typically taking care of beds and in the outpatient service, most of the time at a linear accelerator. I was specially involved in gynaecological brachytherapy. I did one day outpatient clinic for consultations and follow up, and on call requirements were the same 1 in 6 span throughout this period. Beside of that I joined part time the laboratory of the Department of Tumour Progression of my Institute where I performed in vitro and in vivo experiments in the field of radiation sensitivity and radiation sensitization. In 2003 I spent four months at a tumour biology laboratory of the Department of Radiotherapy of the Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Here I performed experiments on prostate cancer cells radiation sensitivity. From I entered the specialization training for clinical oncology, which included elective programs in the departments of solid tumors, haematooncology, urological oncology, dermatological oncology, surgical oncology, gynaecological oncology, head and neck surgery, diagnostic radiology and pathology. Following the specialty exam I was more and more involved in the development and implementation of concurrent chemoradiation protocols at our department. Consultant From 2005 I am section head of a linear accelerator, with two registrar and two house officers, treating approximately 60 outpatients and 10 inpatients per day. I supervise 12 inpatient bed working with a house officer. I am member of the gastrointestinal and lymphoma interdisciplinary team. I am responsible at my department for the concurrent chemoradiation protocols. I am also member of the prostate brachytherapy group. Since the beginning of 2007 I am a member of the interdisciplinary team for PET investigations for the central region of Hungary. My duties also include the supervision of the financial matters of

5 5 the radiotherapy department including the work in our controlling system. At our department we are introducing IMRT in clinical practice and I lead the team taking care of it. Deputy Department Head Practical leading activity in a deputy position of a high throughput radiotherapy department with 6500 new patient a year, extensive outpatient section and 69 bed inpatient unit. Director of International Relations Management of all international collaboration of the Institute including bilateral, multilateral and specific EU framework projects. Since 2010 also been appointed to be the LEAR (legally appointed representative) of the Institute in EU projects. Clinical director At this position the everyday running and management of the clinical activity of our comprehensive cancer centre belongs to my main duty. (2012- ) Description of educational activity Since 1996 I give lectures regularly on the postgraduate courses of radiotherapy at the Semmelweis University, Budapest. I also take part in the practical postgraduate training. From 2007 I participate in the gradual medical education at the University of Pécs.

6 6 Between 2000 and 2004 I participated in the theoretical and practical training on medical emergency in nuclear and radiological accidents. Since 2010 I am the chair of Semmelweis University postgraduate program in radiation oncology Description of scientific activity Beside participation in clinical trials my main focus of cancer research is radiation sensitivity / radiation sensitization. I carried out basic research and have skills in laboratory methods such handling cell cultures, performing in vitro and in vivo (animal) experiments. Reviewed publications: 29 Cumulative impact factor: 33,358 Independent citation: 148 Involvement in clinical trials As a principal investigator I organized an institutional academic phase II-III. trial between 1996 and I participated in three international multicentric trials as investigator and as co-principal investigator. Currently I am a principal investigator of one phase III trial. Last ICH-GCP training completed in International relations I took part in the Work Package of National Cancer Control Plans of the Eurocan+Plus project. I coordinate the international relations of the Institute including projects in the EU framework programs.
