the Gold Leaf Lorem Ipsum A Publication of the Fort Knox Spouses and Community Club PRESIDENTS NOTES Welcome to the 2017-2018 FKSCC Club Year [Date] I am excited to serve as your President and to work with all of you to make this a fabulous year. The Fort Knox Spouses and Community Club is a great organization filled with awesome men and women whom it is my privilege to serve. I would also like to thank the Board of Governors and Executive Board for their commitment and dedication. We have a great year planned. We are already gearing up for our first major fundraiser of the year, the Holiday Bazaar. Vendor spots are still available and we are looking for volunteers to help make the event run smoothly. Our luncheons this year promise to be fun and a great time to get together with friends. Our first luncheon, Oktoberfest, will be September 12 at the Saber & Quill. I look forward to seeing you there. We will have a change of date for our October luncheon, which will be held on October 17, the third Tuesday of the month, due to scheduling issues. Our Sub Clubs are up and running. Check out the wonderful opportunities coming up with something for everyone! CHRISTINE SIMMONS, 2017-18 PRESIDENT FKSCC

Mark your calendars, save the date, and get ready for some Christmas shopping at the 42 nd annual FKSCC HOLIDAY BAZAAR. The Bazaar planning committee is already hard at work to make this a successful fund raising event for the FKSCC. All monies raised at the Holiday Bazaar go back into the Fort Knox community through Soldier and Family programs and educational scholarships. Once again, we are excited to be having the bazaar inside the historical Saber & Quill on Friday, November 3 rd from 11:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 4 th from 10:00-3:00 p.m. We are looking for vendors of handcrafted arts and crafts, artisans, antique and collectible vendors to participate at the Holiday Bazaar. If you are talented and crafty, or know someone who is, you can download a vendor application at www.fortknoxscc.org or contact Jennifer Short at hoildaybazaarfkscc@gmail.com or 228-342-4065. Are you a baker we need you? We will continue the tradition of having a Bake Shoppe during the holiday bazaar. The Bake Shoppe needs donations of quick breads, cakes, pies, brownies, cookies, cupcakes, and anything sweet to sell to our Holiday Bazaar customers. Baked items can be individually wrapped or whole items. If you can donate a baked good, please email us at holidaybazaarfkscc@gmail.com. We need the FKSCC membership support to make this year s Holiday Bazaar our best one ever. If you are interested in volunteering please contact, Jennifer Short (co-chair) 228-342-4065 or Nicole Jackson (co-chair). Thank you.
