RECOVERY A process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential. (SAMHSA) A voluntarily maintained lifestyle characterized by sobriety, personal health and citizenship. (Betty Ford Institute )
At most colleges few services are available for students in recovery from alcohol and other drugs. Students in recovery are different from students with active substance use problems(binge drinking or underage drinking).
