Putting it all Together
Recovery is Prevention! Manage and navigate symptoms experiences in ways that work for the individual, maximizing choice, decisionmaking, and exploring wellness strategies that help maintain health over the long haul. Meaningful work, relationship, and other social roles that maximize one s talents, strengths, and promote ongoing growth and learning like anyone else. Your life is full of possibility I believe in you messages from practitioners and loved ones. Bearing witness. Promoting a sense of safety and restoring power over one s life. Hopeful pursuit of one s dreams and future, supported by people that have been there (peers), loved ones, and other supporters. Pursuing a life of one wants, in the community of his or her choosing. Society s beliefs and attitudes change through education, personal encounters, changes in media practices, and the arts.
It is by going down into the abyss that we recover the treasures of life. Where you stumble, there lies your treasure. Joseph Campbell
