Who Should Attend Purpose Educational Objectives Accreditation Credit Designation Conflict of Interest Discussion of Off-Label Use Registration Refund Policy UT Southwestern Pelvic Floor Symposium The symposium is designed for Physicians, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physical Therapists and Physicians Assistants interested in the treatment of pelvic floor disorders within the fields of Internal Medicine and Primary Care physicians, Urologists, Gynecologists, and Colorectal Surgeons. Update on the multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation and treatment of pelvic floor disorders including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, fecal incontinence, pelvic pain and constipation. The course is aimed at providing tools to practitioners so they can identify, evaluate and offer first line therapy for pelvic floor disorders. The ability to perform these tasks has been identified as lacking in multiple national publications and guidelines. Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to link the educational objectives to Core Competencies(Medical Knowledge and Patient Care) and be able to: Evaluate patients with pelvic floor disorders through careful screening Perform directed pelvic floor history and physical examination Initiate and manage therapy for urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, constipation, and pelvic organ prolapse Identify the mechanisms behind chronic pelvic pain and be able to initiate treatment Discuss the role of pelvic floor physical therapy in the treatment of pelvic floor disorders Discuss the pros and cons of pelvic mesh and slings Identify complex patients who require referral to a subspecialist The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide Continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s). Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. UT Southwestern University Hospitals is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on Accreditation. This activity provides 6.0 contact hours. Application of Physical Therapy credits has been submitted and is pending approval. All persons in the position to control the content of an education activity are required to disclose all relevant financial relationships in any amount occurring within the past 12 months with any entity producing, marketing, re-selling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on patients along with that of their spouses or significant other. A primary mechanism to resolve identified conflicts of interest is a content review that is prior to the activity. This course is meant to educate physicians with what is currently in use and what may be available in the future, there maybe off-label use discussed in the presentations. Speakers have been requested to inform the audience when off-label use is being discussed. The registration fee entitles participants admission to the conference, all course materials, continental breakfasts, refreshment breaks and lunches during the meeting. Enrollment is confirmed upon receipt of registration fee. Registration cannot be processed without payment. On-site registration will be available; however, course materials are not guaranteed for registrations received after September 27, 2014. A $10 handling fee will be deducted from cancellation refunds. For a full refund, requests must be received by mail or fax prior to September 27, 2014. No refunds will be made thereafter.
