We are looking for green artificial trees without lights attached of any height or size. We would love donations or trees that would be loaned to us for the performances. If you are willing to loan us your tree, we would just need your tree labeled in some way with your name and contact number, so we can return the trees to you after April 25th. PARENT EDUCATION NIGHT ON E-CIGARETTES Spring View Middle School is hosting a parent night to educate parents on the dangers of E-cigarettes on April 25, from 6:30-7:30pm, for a presentation on E-cigarettes by the Placer County Tobacco Prevention Program. Health Educator Alexandra Wride will explain all the ins and outs of E-cigarettes, including: what they are, slang terms, health concerns, teenage popularity, and ways to talk with your teen about them. E-cigarette use has grown exponentially among teens in recent years. Learn about this dangerous new trend from an expert in the field. Counselor Corner April 2018 Spring is upon us and it is a busy time of year here at Granite Oaks as we move into the fourth quarter of the school year. The 8 th grade class of 2022 has completed the course registration process for both Whitney and Rocklin High School. All of our 8 th grade students utilized the AERIES portal to register for their high school elective courses. In April, we will begin the registration process for our incoming 7 th graders as well as our current 7 th grade students as they prepare to move on to the 8 th grade. Important Registration Dates Coming Up: Monday, April 23 Current 7 th Graders will receive an Elective Brochure and the Educational Plan Worksheet to choose their electives for their 8 th grade year to take home for parent input and signatures. Thursday, April 26 Students will return their Educational Plan Worksheet to their homeroom teacher. EVENT DATE: Saturday, April 14, 2018 LINK: http://www.csus.edu/cmih/ Program Description: "College: Making It Happen" is intended primarily for 6th through 9th grade students and their families, and provides practical and easy-to-understand information on how to prepare academically and financially for college. The event is being held at Sacramento State to help reaffirm the message that college preparation begins many years before the final year in high school, and that college planning is a family affair. Space is limited. You must register online if you plan to attend! Registration will close when the event is full. This 1 hour adaptation of the original Broadway musical incorporates the fairy tale stories of Rapunzel, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Beanstalk into one wild adventure. Each main character in the story has a different reason to go into the woods to pursue a wish. To find out if their wishes come true, join us for this fun musical production. Granite Oaks Dance Team Auditions 2018 Dates: Monday, April 23 rd and Tuesday, April 24 th Time: Doors open at 3:15 to check in and stretch, audition will begin promptly at 3:30 and end at 4:45 each day. Location: Granite Oaks multipurpose room What to expect: Dancers will demonstrate basic techniques across the floor with kicks, turns and leaps. Dancer will learn a short routine to be performed each day. What to wear: School appropriate dance attire and dance shoes What to bring: Grade check form (from website), water and a great attitude! There is also an addition form and information on the Granite Oaks website.
