A Corporate Support Invitation May 2-4, 2017 The Banff Centre Banff, Alberta Pre Conference Workshops May 1 & 2
1 Safety is Always Personal A trying economy. Improving performance. Doing more with less. No matter what issue the oil and gas industry is facing, safety can help guide them through it. The Fort McMurray wildfire of 2016 was one of the greatest hazards Canada s oil and gas industry has ever faced. Tens of thousands of people applied the safety knowledge they learned and brought it home to take themselves, their families and their neighbours out of harm s way. The fire proved safety is always personal. This year, the 66th annual Petroleum Safety Conference program will examine lessons our industry and community learned from both the fire and economic downturn. Lessons focused on emergency response, crisis communication, safety culture transformation, mental well-being and resiliency. Our event will feature more than 100 exhibitors and will be attended by over 700. It will offer many opportunities to build and connect to your safety network. More than half our delegates are in mid-to high-level supervisors and managers. Two-thirds are health, safety and environment professionals; over 50 per cent have more than 10 years in the industry. Since 1951, the Petroleum Safety Conference has been where leaders, workers and suppliers gain and exchange knowledge about improving safety in the energy workplace. It is the upstream oil and gas industry s premier forum for safety. THE PETROLEUM SAFETY CONFERENCE AT A GLANCE 1951: Several industry associations establish the Petroleum Industry Safety Seminar, also called the Safety Clinic. 1961: The Petroleum Industry Training Service is formed and becomes PSC s organizer. 1970s: The PSC focuses on fundamental shift to behaviour-based safety. 1980s: PSC s annual events respond to critical industry events such as Lodgepole and Ocean Ranger. 1990s: PSC s mandate evolves to provide information and build awareness for all aspects of health and safety in the petroleum industry. 2000s: One of Western Canada s oldest annual industry events, PSC attracts hundreds of attendees each year to Banff, Alberta. 2017: PSC s 66th annual event focuses on the aftermath of the Fort McMurray wildfire. We invite you to join us. Your participation at and support of PSC will make it as important as ever. The PSC offers a range of sponsorship opportunities, detailed on the following pages, and ranging from our opening night reception ($15,000) to website presence ($2,000).
2 CONFERENCE VENUE PSC 2017 will be located at The Banff Centre, in the heart of Banff National Park, one of the most beautiful and inspirational settings in all of Canada for a meeting. 3 CONFERENCE PROFILE PSC 2017 brings together delegates from operating companies, construction companies, contracting companies and government, to exchange valuable knowledge, expertise and success stories about health and safety issues directly related to their specific workplace challenges. The Conference is supported by the six trade associations of the upstream oil and gas industry: Canadian Association of Geophysical Contractors Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers Canadian Energy Pipeline Association Explorers and Producers Association of Canada Petroleum Services Association of Canada This provides a broad range of involvement ensuring the program directly relates to current and important issues in the oil and gas sector. CONFERENCE MARKETING Conference marketing initiatives are focused on ensuring that we continue to build attendance in the various delegate segments. Delegates who have attended previous conferences will receive email blasts leading up to the 2017 Conference directing them to the website for in depth coverage of all aspects of the program. Special initiatives will be undertaken to engage with all new members of the support associations to ensure we are reaching all those employed in the upstream oil and gas industry. Our www.psc.ca website will feature all elements of the Conference program and a page dedicated to our Sponsors and Contributors for the 2017 event.
