2015 Albert E. Levy Award Recipients Senior Faculty: Leslee J. Shaw, PhD (Cardiology) Junior Faculty: David S. Weiss, PhD (Infectious Diseases) Dr. Shaw s work on the effectiveness of cardiovascular imaging has led to groundbreaking findings on long-term prognosis of major atherosclerotic and ischemic risk markers. Dr. Weiss work seeks to reveal the ways in which bacterial pathogens resist antibiotics and the host immune system, so as to develop novel therapeutics to combat drugresistant bacteria.
