Victims of Assault National Sexual Assault Hotline (800) 656-HOPE (4673) The National Domestic Violence Hotline: 800-799-SAFE (7233) 800-787-3224 (TTY) 800-942-6908 (Spanish) This 24/7 hotline provides crisis intervention in both English and Spanish, and referrals to local services and shelters for victims of partner or spousal abuse. Trained volunteers are available to connect people with emergency help in their own communities, including emergency services and shelters. Women s Shelter of South Texas 24-Hour Hotline: 1-800-580-HURT (4878) or (361) 881-8888 Serves the following counties: Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Duval, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, McMullen, Nueces, Refugio, and San Patricio Services provided: 1. Shelter/Safe House (65 bed) for women and accompanying children, including provision of clothing, food, and personal items for each individual and family 2. 24-hour toll free crisis hotline 3. Individual and group counseling for adults and children 4. Case Management including referrals to resources such as employment, housing, educational opportunities, medical care, and childcare 5. Legal Advocacy including assistance regarding the justice system, obtaining protective orders, crime victims' compensation, court accompaniment, and legal aid referrals 6. The program is voluntary and youth must be willing to enter. 3) Crisis hotline and referral services 4) Kids Exchange services one time $25 registration fee; one time $75 orientation fee; cost for each visit is based on sliding scale fee. 5) Transitional Living Program assists youth ages 16 to 22 in the Connections service area to transition to productive independent living. It is a residential program which provides assistance in achieving educational goals and obtaining employment while teaching the life skills necessary to live independently. Criteria for admission: ages 16-22. Payment: Free of charge to families in crisis; Counseling services offered on a sliding scale. Medicaid insurance also accepted.
