Groundwork Prince s Trust Team Programme The Team programme is a life changing personal development course. Team members take part in work experience, qualifications, practical skills, community projects and an exciting residential week. More than 70% of unemployed participants go on to jobs, training or education within three months of completing this course. It s a worthwhile course to do. Practical Countryside Skills Course Learn a range of conservation skills whilst gaining an accredited qualification and helping to improve a local nature site. Volunteer Project Assistant (VPA) Programme Groundwork has been providing graduates with relevant work experience in the environmental/regeneration sector since 1991. Our successful VPA programme gives people real project management experience, accredited qualifications and plenty of opportunities to network. We re also supporting VPA placements in other local organisations. I gained lots of classroom experience, which was vital for my PGDE application. It was a very rewarding experience and one that I would recommend to any graduate. Employability Skills Course Get the skills to research employment opportunities, apply for jobs, and prepare for and take part in interviews. This three week course will teach you the generic skills valued by employers and provide an opportunity to achieve an accredited qualification. You will also receive support finding work, or to identify any further training and development you may need. Yeah the course was a great help, the team working question came up and the strengths and weaknesses one as well, and with the interview tips I got I smashed it. They said it was the best interview by far, so I can t thank you enough. Building Craft Occupations Course The BCO course teaches the basics in plastering, joinery, plumbing, decorating and brickwork. Participants learn how to handle and store construction materials, and how to cut, lay, set and fix a range of construction components. As part of the course learners work towards recognised qualifications as well as gaining a CSCS card. It s a confidence builder. It improves team work and improves hands on knowledge of the building trades. Housing Refurbishment Programme Hone your construction skills on the refurbishment of a real house. As well as training and qualifications you will gain valuable work experience covering plastering, decorating and landscaping. You will work in a team of four and have a supervisor who will guide you through the work and give support along the way. The scheme was a fantastic experience. The Groundwork staff really helped me along the way, giving me good support and encouragement. It drives you forward to move to a better life and has widened my horizons.
