The chemical concentration is also considered a trade secret. Specific chemical identities will be disclosed to competent medical personnel upon request. This is in the event of an actual medical emergency. 4. First Aid Measures Skin: Immediately wash skin with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and wash in an industrial laundry before reusing. Get medical attention. Bring this MSDS to the health care provider. Eyes: Flush eyes immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. Hold the lids back and allow water to thoroughly irrigate the eye. Seek prompt medical attention. Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Seek prompt medical attention as material is especially reactive with mucous membranes. Ingestion: If the person is conscious, give plenty of milk or water. Get immediate medical attention. 5. Handling and Storage Normal Handling: Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Do not eat or drink in the material handling and storage area. Practice good personal hygiene and housekeeping. Storage Recommendations: Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area away from bases and oxidizers. Keep container closed when not in use. Avoid contact with Zinc, Magnesium or Aluminum. 8. Exposure Controls/ Personal Protective Equipment Engineering Controls: Use local exhaust while dispensing or during a release. Do not handle within an unventilated space. Personal Protective Equipment Skin Protection: When handling solutions wear Neoprene or PVC gloves, boots and a rubber apron or other impervious clothing. Eye Protection: Wear a head covering and chemical safety goggles. Do not wear contact lenses or impact resistant safety glasses. Respiratory Protection: Use a NIOSH approved respirator for acid fumes. Wear a respirator approved for use with Sulfur Oxide gas in the event of a fire. A self contained or supplied air respirator may be required. An eye wash and safety shower is also required.
