Introduction Childminding Contract Please read the following carefully then sign and return it together with your registration, policy acceptance and consent forms. We are unable to care for your child without these signed forms. If you have any questions about the contract or have any other concerns then please raise them before signing. This is a legally binding contract between Paul & Gemma Gillard and the parents named below regarding the care of the child named below. Parent s Name: Parent s Name: Child s Name: Drop Off and Collection Your child must be signed in when they arrive and signed out when they leave. We leave for school at 08:20 therefore we request that your child arrive no later than 08:10. If you do arrive later than 08:20 and find that we have left then we will normally be back home around 09:20. Arriving in plenty of time allows us to welcome your child and exchange any information with you that you or we feel necessary. If we need to inform you of any incidents or accidents that have happened during your child s time with us, we will need you to sign before you leave to show you have received this information. On occasions, you may want your child to be collected by someone who does not usually do so. You must tell us as soon as possible if this is the case. Should we not know the person due to collect your child you must contact us and let us know a password which we should expect them to know. We will refuse to let that person collect your child if we are not satisfied that they are a fit and proper person to do so. Signing your child in or out of a session confirms the official transfer of care from one party to the other. Childminding Contract Page 1 of 6
Fees Our fees are as follows: Full or part half hour from 08:00-18:00: 2.30 Full or part half hour before 08:00 and after 18:00: 3.45 These charges equate to 4.60 per hour or 46.00 for a full days care from 08:00 until 18:00. We charge for a minimum of one hour per period of care. We do not normally provide care on bank holidays. Standard fees are invoiced monthly in advance with payment to be made no later than the twenty-seventh day of the preceding month. Any additional fees, charges or refunds incurred will be invoiced monthly in arrears. If you are late collecting your child a fee of 5.00 will be charged per 15 minutes or part thereof that your child remains in our care. However, we allow a 10 minute period of grace. We review our fees annually to become effective from the 1st April each year. If our fees are to change will we inform you no later than the 1st March. Meals We can provide meals for your child throughout the day. However, if you wish to provide something different for your child to eat (e.g. baby food, packed lunch, special diet) you are welcome to do so. Lunch If your child is present between 12am and 1pm we can provide lunch. This is charged at 1.00 per day. Tea If your child is present between 4:30pm and 5:30pm we can provide a cooked evening meal. This is charged at 1.50 per day. Snacks and Drinks Fees include snacks between mealtimes. Water is available at all times during the day. Childminding Contract Page 2 of 6
Before and After School Care We are able to provide before and after school care. For after school care we charge from 15:00. Charges for before and after school care are at our half hourly rate (minimum of one hour). Contracted Hours We agree to provide care for your child during the hours and for the fees set out below as well as any other hours we might agree. North Somerset Term Time Hours Fee North Somerset School Holiday Hours Fee Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Reducing Hours If you wish to reduce the hours in which we look after your child you must give four weeks notice in writing. The change must then be confirmed by completing a Change to Contracted Hours form detailing the new hours and fees. Increasing Hours If you wish to increase the hours in which we look after your child we will do our best to accommodate you, but we may not be able to agree the change. If the contracted hours do change this must be confirmed by completing a Change to Contracted Hours form detailing the new hours and fees. Payment of Fees Fees can be paid by BACS, childcare vouchers or cheque. You agree to pay these fees for us to look after your child as agreed in this contract. You accept that if you do not do so we will be unable to look after your child until all due fees are paid. Childminding Contract Page 3 of 6
Settling In Period We acknowledge that all children are different and settling in periods will vary between families. We want your child to be happy and settled when they are left with us. Therefore we welcome you and your child to come and play as often as you feel necessary. Fees will only be payable if you leave your child with us. When We Cannot Provide Care We may sometimes be unable to provide care due to very exceptional circumstances (such as having no heating or burst water pipes). In such circumstances no charge will be made. If one of us is unable to provide care the other will aim to do so. However, we may need to reduce the number of children we care for to remain within legal ratios. When this is the case we will need to inform some parents that we cannot provide care for their child. Priority will normally be given to the children who have been attending for the longest. If Your Child Does Not Attend We will charge the full fee if we are open and you make the decision not to send your child. This includes times when your child is on holiday and when your child is sick. If you know your child will not be attending on a day they are due to, we would appreciate notice to aid us in our planning. If your child is ill on arrival or if they become ill whilst in our care, we will contact you and you will need to collect your child. Please see our Illness and Infectious Diseases Policy for further information. In such circumstances we will charge the full fee. What Parents Need To Provide On each day that your child attends you will need to provide suitable indoor and outdoor clothing as well as a full change of clothes. On sunny days you will also need to provide sun cream. You will need to provide any formula milk, bottles, nappies and wipes which may be required during the day. You agree to take any soiled nappies home at the end of the day. All items provided should be labelled with your child s name. Annual Leave In each calendar year we take maximum of 3 full weeks and 5 ad hoc days holiday. We will notify you of these as far in advance as possible. Childminding Contract Page 4 of 6

Our insurance document is kept in our Policies and Information folder which is available on request. Deposit If the commencement date of this contract is more than four weeks into the future we will ask you to pay a deposit to secure your child's place. The deposit will be equal to the cost of four weeks childcare as set out in the Contracted Hours section. Once your child takes up their place the deposit will act as a credit to be offset against future invoices. If your child does not take up their contracted hours then then deposit will not be refunded. Retainer Fees Retainer fees are 50% of regular fees and are not refundable. We will charge a retainer fee if another family requests care that is reserved for your child. The retainer fee acts to secure your child's place ahead of any other children. If you do not agree to pay retainer fees we reserve the right to terminate this contract in order to offer the place to another family. In this situation any deposit paid will not be refunded. Cancellation of Contract The first four weeks from the commencement date of care acts as a cooling off period. During this time either you or we are able to cancel this contract without notice. After the first four weeks this contract may be cancelled by either you or us by giving four weeks written notice. As detailed in our Regular Outings Consent Form we take the children we care for on regular outings away from our home. You may tell us at any time that you no longer wish us to take your child on outings. We reserve the right to terminate this contract without notice if you do so. Declaration Commencement Date of Care: By signing this contract I am stating that I understand and agree to abide by the terms set out above.
