Nte: There are imprtant distinctins between adding a segment cde int multiple cmpanies, changing a descriptin in multiple cmpanies and attempting t update all segment prperties acrss multiple cmpanies (when a target accunt may already be in use). Extended G/L Segment Cdes lets yu: Maintain a full r partial set f segment cdes acrss multiple Sage 300 cmpanies using the Cpy Segment Cdes functinality. Chse the accunt segment with the segment cdes that yu want t cpy frm the current cmpany, cherry-pick segment cdes frm the results, and then cpy the final set t ther Sage 300 cmpanies. Select r de-select cmpanies n an individual basis. Update segment cde descriptins nly. Display a full lg f updated segment cdes. Make sure the User ID yu enter fr the cpy prcedure has sufficient rights t cmplete the peratin in the target cmpanies. If yu are inserting new segment cdes in ther cmpanies, check that a current backup exists fr the databases being affected. Open the Sage 300 cmpany with the segment cdes that yu want t cpy. Cpy Segment Cdes perates frm within an existing "surce" cmpany, and lets yu cpy accunt segment cdes t ther Sage 300 cmpany databases. Open the Extended G/L Segment Cdes frm, and click the Cpy Segment Cdes buttn at the bttm f the frm. When the Cpy Segment Cdes buttn is pressed, a windw will pp up fr selecting accunt segment cdes in the current (surce) cmpany. Yu start by chsing the G/L accunt number segment fr the cdes yu want t cpy. Nte: By default, the grid at the bttm f the frm will display the set f segment cdes that yu changed if any new segment cdes were added in this sessin. This allws yu t cpy the new segment cdes directly t ther Sage cmpany databases. T cpy r update any set f segment cdes, start at the tp f the frm t specify which accunt segment has the cdes that yu want t cpy r update. When the Lad buttn is pressed, the prgram will display ALL the segment cdes fr the current segment. Click the Select All and Select Nne buttns at the bttm f the screen t include all r nne f the segment cdes laded in the grid. Fr example, chse Update Only t update nly the existing segment cde descriptins. Chse whether t insert, insert and update, r just update segment cdes. Insert Only will nly add segment cdes if the cde des nt already exist. Update Only will nly update segment cdes that already exist. Insert and Update will perfrm bth f these peratins. Update peratins attempt t change the cde in the target cmpany t be just like the accunt in the surce cmpany. It s pssible fr the update t fail if prperties dn't match r segment cdes are in use. Click the checkbxes t cmplete yur cmpany selectins. Click the Cpy buttn in the pp-up T Cmpanies screen t cpy segment cdes: Click the Cpy buttn t start the cpy prcedure. Enter yur User ID and passwrd in the Sage 300 Sign-On windw and click OK. Nte: Yu MUST have sufficient permissins t update segment cdes in the target cmpanies fr cpying t prceed. The prgram will cpy the segment cdes t the target cmpanies. If n changes are required fr a selected cde, n update will be perfrmed s the audit stamp will be preserved. If yu cancel the peratin during the cpying prcess, yu must check the lg t see which prcedures were cmpleted and assess hw yu want t cntinue.
