Mid-Maryland Celtic Festival (former Frederick Celtic Festival) May 14, 2016 Sponsorship Package Mount Airy Fire Department Carnival Grounds 1003 Twin Arch Road, Mount Airy, MD 21771
Why Sponsor the Mid-Maryland Celtic Festival? The St. Andrews Society of Mid-Maryland has held a Celtic Festival for the past 16 years to celebrate Scottish and Celtic heritage and provide a family-oriented event that features something for everyone. The Mid-Maryland Celtic Festival (MMCF) (former Frederick Celtic Festival) is run by an allvolunteer force (about 300); there is no paid staff. Sponsorships directly support the festival and partnering local charities. Evolution - MMCF attendance has grown each year; from about 5,000 in 2013 to 7,000 in 2014 and almost 10,000 participants in 2015 with that or more expected for 2016. Location - The name change in 2016 reflects the broader scope of the festival as an inclusive mid-maryland festival. Visibility - Our one-day festival is one of only three festivals within an hour s drive from Baltimore, Washington, DC, and Pennsylvania, and draws participation from Virginia, West Virginia, and beyond. Easily accessible from I-70 in Maryland and from Route 27 in Mount Airy, MD Think globally, act locally - Festival services and products are sourced locally; from portable toilets to generators to tents; food concessions, to printing to security; and everything in between. Attendees - People of all ages and income levels across Maryland and neighboring states come to the festival and bring revenue to the local town of Mount Airy and the county through their local purchases. Children - The Bairns (children s) area with free activities for children is run by our partner, Scots-4-Tots, another 501(c)(3) organization whose work benefits children in need. Leaders in Action (Wounded Warriors and Athletics) - Our Celtic Festival was the first to introduce a Wounded Warrior division in the Highland Games in 2013 which has now become a feature at numerous other games up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Local Charity (Veteran Focused) Although a charity ourselves, each year our festival designates a local Wounded Warrior affiliated charity as the beneficiary in 2015 Warrior 360, founded by a Wounded Warrior, was selected. A portion of your donation in 2016 will be provided to this year s charity Hero Dogs. Hero Dogs, Inc. is a Maryland 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that raises and trains service dogs and places them free of charge with our nation s Veterans to improve quality of life and restore independence. The organization has 5 staff members and more than 100 volunteers committed to the
success of our mission. Hero Dogs, Inc. provides service dogs to Veterans who: o have served in any branch of the uniformed services in any era; and o have received an honorable or a general (under honorable conditions) discharge; and o have a disabling medical condition (does not need to be service-connected); and o have been released from all service and reserve obligations; and o have met all Hero Dogs requirements for application into the program, applied, and been accepted into the program; and o have successfully completed all required Hero Dogs training and certification requirements. o There is no cost to a Veteran for the service dogs we raise, train, and place, or for the training we provide. Leading Celtic Entertainment We are the recognized local venue in the Baltimore/Washington DC metro areas for Celtic music performances in May. Three music and one dance stages showcase the talents of many local musicians and dancers. o Well-known bands such as IONA (Maryland and Virginia based), Barleyjuice (Maryland), and Searson (local roots) anchor the main stage. o New this year is the Traditional Stage that will feature more local talent giving them exposure to thousands of new listeners and the opportunity to develop professionally and become proven performers for other events. o Dance groups from the local areas are supported by appearances at the festival. Heritage - The Celtic Nations represented by numerous Clans and Societies help people find their ancestry and celebrate their heritage. Bottom Line We are a staunch local community member focused on our charitable mission of enhancing our cultural heritage and sharing this through educational means, expressly via the Mid-Maryland Celtic Festival. We cannot achieve our mission without your support. We are providing you with a venue, and appropriate services, in which you may physically communicate directly with your target market, whether your market is of Celtic heritage, or is a part of the local community. Sponsor an entertainer, a stage (and all of the performers on it), the children s play area, an athletic competition, a pipe band, or our local charity Your organization s name will be linked with this throughout the advertising leading up to, and then on the day of the festival. The choice is yours. We look forward to establishing a long lasting relationship with you!
