The Science of Autologous Blood Concentrates CGF/PRP/PRF, Venipuncture/Phlebotomy Techniques and Facial Rejuvenation It has become increasingly important for dental surgeons to optimize post- operative healing for their patients. The most widely discussed topic of the decade in achieving this aim is the use of a small amount of a patient s own blood and concentrating the portions of it that optimize healing and then placing that concentrate into the area required. This procedure has universal applications throughout the medical and dental fields. This course reviews the science and biology behind autologous blood concentrates in order for clinicians to understand how the process works as well as the indications for proper use. A discussion of the potpourri of acronyms, which has sprung up related to this $40 billion-a-year industry, will be provided to eliminate the confusion. In addition, a thorough discussion of venipuncture will be provided along with a Venipuncture Hands-On Workshop so that each participant feels comfortable performing this procedure in his or her own practice following completion of the course. Clinical usage of this procedure will be discussed for applications in soft tissue grafting, socket preservations, bone grafting, sinus lifts, implant surgery, and Facial Rejuvenation along with a Facial Rejuvenation Hands-On Workshop with participants providing facial rejuvenation procedures on LIVE PATIENTS from the Dominican Republic.

The course objectives are three fold: Blood Derived Growth Factors have many advantages including physical properties, handling characteristics, autologous bioactive nature, incorporated growth factors and influence on-site healing. This course covers the clinical usage and protocols for science and biology, preparation of these materials and their clinical applications. Enhanced healing of extraction sites prior to implant placement, sinus grafting, soft tissue healing and facial rejuvenation techniques will also be discussed and taught. Endorsed by a variety of medical specialists including sports and exercise medicine doctors as well as cosmetic and general practice dentists, a growing body of evidence finds that when a patient s blood derived growth factors are re-injected into a wound site, it enhances healing and reduces recovery time. Bone grafts, implants, sinus lifts, ridge augmentation and the closure of cleft lips are just some of the procedures it is helping augment. The course also provides a hands-on laboratory session and a live surgical demonstration so that participants become proficient in the use of venipuncture and use of these growth factors for facial rejuvenation. Patient assessment, evaluation and consultation for Juvederm and PRP Indications and contraindications for Juvederm and PRP therapy In depth instruction in the anatomy, neurophysiology, musculature and circulatory system of the oral and maxillofacial areas Patient evaluation for the best dento-facial esthetic and therapeutic outcomes Learn proper sterile technique for the use of injectable solid fillers Safety and risk issues for Juvederm and PRP thread therapy Integrating Juvederm and PRP therapy into therapeutic and esthetic treatment plans Learn the best treatment techniques including proper tissue depths, patient mapping and preparation for the best oral/maxillofacial therapeutic and esthetic outcomes Create beautiful vermillion borders with Juvederm and PRP Smooth, tighten and lift nasolabial folds, marionette lines, jowls and the corners of the mouth using Juvederm and PRP Smooth crepey skin with neocollagenesis to grow new collagen for long lasting results Establish a beautiful tight jaw line to establish proper lip and smile lines How to avoid, manage, and treat possible adverse reactions and complications Fee strategies for solid filler Juvederm and PRP Combining Juvederm and PRP with other injectable therapies Observe nearly70 patient treatment during the day One on one mentored instruction as you work hands-on with your 4-5 patients for the clinical day

Learning Objectives Autologous Blood Concentrates Understand the biological principles of PRF, PRP and CGF Learn proper case selection and planning Review proper surgical techniques Ensure proper preparation techniques Management of complications and post-operative care

Venipuncture/Phlebotomy Techniques Learn when phlebotomy and PRP are considered beneficial Review the patient checklist Understand the basics of phlebotomy and PRP procedures, equipment and usage Lecture and hands-on training provides the skills and knowledge needed for venipuncture, or using a needle to find a vein and collect blood and to understand the basic principles of sterility and safe practices for handling blood and the dangers of blood-borne diseases. The art of drawing blood safely and efficiently with maximal patient care and its use related to PRF, PRP, CGF is a critical skill set dental practices are eager to acquire.

Facial Rejuvenation Lecture and hands-on training provides the skills and knowledge needed to thoroughly understand the introduction of facial aesthetics as a means to improving the patient s overall appearance not limited to their dental condition. The use of blood-derived growth factors is an innovative method for skin rejuvenation that can be used in every-day practice, with a maximum cost/benefit ratio for both the physician and the patient. Healthcare professionals have successfully incorporated growth factors in their practices, often in conjunction with other modalities such as hyaluronic acid, botox injections, PDO threads and laser treatments.

Agenda FIRST DAY (THEORETICAL PART) Innovations in dentistry and cosmetology with smart blood derivatives and Stem cells Preparation of the dental office and the patient for venipunture Blood collection Anatomy/Physiology in facial aesthetics Aging of the skin Aesthetic of the perioral area- Lip augmentation Combining growth factors and medical needling and cosmeceutical skin care to get the best results Preparing the skin for injectables Anatomy of lips and perioral region, mandible, plasma Different techniques of injecting for facial rejuvenation Business aspects of Facial Rejuvenation Demonstration patient SECOND DAY (CLINICAL COMPONENT) Practice on LIVE PATIENTS performing venipuncture and facial rejuvenations
