Increased enrolled veterans served, improved clinical outcomes as measured by VHA based clinical performance measures while reducing total staffing levels by 25%. Established a network of comprehensive geriatric/extended care services throughout VA Integrated Service Network 3 (New York City, Nassau and Suffolk Counties, Hudson Valley Counties and central and Northern New Jersey). Reduced total institution-based long term care beds by 50%, and established a network of non-institutional services to meet the growing need/demand for community based geriatric care, including home based and tele-health services, Adult Day Care, hospice and palliative care. Developed a comprehensive emergency response plan for VA New York Harbor HCS in partnership with community, city, state and federal responders. Under my direction VA New York Harbor HCS played a lead role in a VA/Bellevue/NYU consortium plan for emergency response in the event of chemical, biological or WMD attacks. 3
