What We D Yung Hackney prvide a Substance Misuse Service which is centrally based at the Hackney Service Centre We are a dedicated cmmunity based service taking referrals frm schls, clleges, parents and family members as well as a range f prfessinals frm scial services, yuth ffending teams, health prfessinals and f curse yung peple themselves We aim t meet with all yung peple at a cnvenient and safe lcatin which can encurage pen and useful discussin t address their particular needs arund drugs and alchl We ffer 1:1 psychscial interventins, mtivatinal interviewing and grup wrk which is impartial, up t date, infrmed and evidence based and can help the yung persn better understand drugs and alchl enabling them t make safer, psitive chices abut their lives We wrk with peple aged 8-25 living, wrking r studying in Hackney and can extend this supprt t their families as well as thse prfessinals invlved in their day t day lives Our aim is t educate, infrm and assist yung peple t reduce the risks f substance use and make healthy chices fr life

Our Criteria fr Engagement Child r YP has disclsed r is knwn t be currently misusing substances: there is increasing evidence f a lack f cntrl ver their current use f the drug r alchl indicating grwing dependency (with assciated withdrawal symptms) Child r YP has disclsed r is knwn t be currently using substances: there is evidence f early r experimental use f the drug r alchl which risks cntinued r prblematic use, i.e. misuse and subsequent dependency Child r YP is at sme discernible risk f substance use frm within his/her current peer grup, scial circle r frm the familial r care setting (hidden harm) and subsequently requires specific,targeted interventin, i.e. educatin,harmreductin, self-management Child r YP has cmplex learning needs which raise their vulnerability t substance use and is knwn t CYPS requiring a multi-disciplinary r systemic apprach t nging care Child r YP has disclsed histric substance use and whilst currently abstinent, may demnstrate ptential vulnerability t lapse r relapse requiring; targeted interventin e.g. psych-scial r harm minimisatin wrk, r a multi-disciplinary apprach alngside ur apprpriatepartneragenciest reduce identified risk and restre stability YP is pen t Hackney Recvery Service fr apprpriate substitutin therapy but requires additinal psych-scial input such as brad reach key-wrking r nward referral t YH
