NARCOTICS CONTROL BUREAU NEW DELHI DRUG SITUATION REPORT/SIGNIFICANT EVENTS REPORT FOR INDIA FOR THE ONTH OF SEPTEBER 2014 ********** This report is based on the information received from various State and Central drug law enforcement agencies till the end of September 2014. Significant seizures effected earlier but reported during September 2014 are also incorporated in this report. ***********
SEIZURES EFFECTED IN THE ONTH OF SEPTEBER, 2014 On 01.09.2014, officers of the Customs Land Station, Sonauli, aharajganj seized 2.840 kg of Hashish. The drug was concealed in cavity of a trolley bag. 01 National was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was. On 03.09.2014, officers of the NCB, umbai Zonal Unit seized 10.280 kg of Ketamine at the premises of a courier company. The Drug was concealed in Tshirts. 01 Nigerian National was arrested. The suspected destination of the seized drug was South Africa. From 03.09.2014 to 06.09.2014, in an operation launched to destroy illicit cannabis cultivation in Chingi, Brokpa Lenchin, Liphakphu and Ankling villages under Kalaktang Circle of West Kameng district, Arunachal Pradesh, the officers of the Narcotics Control Bureau, Guwahati Zonal Unit along with State Police and SSB destroyed illicit cannabis cultivation over 37 acres of land. On 05.09.2014, officers of the Goa Police apprehended 01 Nigerian National at Bardez, Goa and seized 0.25 grams of LSD from his possession. He was arrested. On 07.09.2014, officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Gorakhpur intercepted one vehicle at Gorakhpur and seized 655.240 kg of Ganja. 03 persons were arrested. On 08.09.2014, officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Chennai seized 10.105 kg of ethaqualone from a residential premises. 01 person was arrested. On 09.09.2014, officers of the Border Security Force, 191 Bn., Khemkaran, seized 930 grams of and handed over to the NCB, Sub Zone for action under the NDPS Act. The drug was thrown across the fence on IndoPak International Border in side. The suspected source of seized drug was South West Asia. On 09.09.2014, officers of the NCB, umbai Zonal Unit seized 10.020 kg of Ketamine at Vashi, Navi umbai. The drug was concealed in 34 card paper parcels of bed sheet sets. On 12.09.2014, officers of the NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit seized 30.400 kg of from the premises of a Cold Storage at andir arg, Narela Piauy, Sonepat, Haryana. The drug was concealed in 04 wooden boxes of raisins in 31 packets of around 01 kg each. 04 persons including 01 Afghan National were arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia. On 12.09.2014, officers of the NCB, umbai Zonal Unit seized 516 grams of Opaque Liquid purported to be Cocaine at the premises of a courier company. The drug was concealed in a shock absorber. The suspected source of the seized drug was Colombia. On 12.09.2014, officers of the NCB, Ranchi Sub Zone seized 1.000 kg of Ganja at Ranchi Railway Station. 01 person was arrested.
On 14.09.2014, officers of the NCB, Indore Zonal Unit seized 9.500 kg of Opium in front of Bhawani ata andir, odi Road, Jawad, Neemach, adhya Pradesh. 04 persons were arrested. On 15.09.2014, officers of the NCB, Chennai Zonal Unit seized 1.377 kg of and 10 grams of ethamphetamine at Departure Hall, Customs Examination Area, Anna International Airport, Chennai. 01 person was arrested. On 15.09.2014, officers of the Border Security Force, 163 Bn., BOP Daoke seized 1.900 kg of and handed over to the NCB, Sub Zone for action under the NDPS Act. The drug was thrown across the fencing on IndoPak International Border in side. The suspected source of seized drug was South West Asia. On 15.09.2014, officers of the Central Bureau of Narcotics, Lucknow seized 500 grams of. The drug was concealed in transparent double polythene and kept in black colour polybag. 01 person was arrested. On 16.09.2014, officers of the NCB, andi Sub Zone seized 06 grams of Cocaine at Patlikuhal, Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. The drug was recovered from the possession of the accused. 02 Nigerian Nationals were arrested. On 17.09.2014, officers of the NCB, Bangalore Zonal Unit seized 61 blots of LSD, 12 grams of DA, 1.600 kg of Ganja and 4.5 grams of Hashish at Siddapura, Whitefield ain Road, Bangalore. 13 persons were arrested. On 17.09.2014, officers of the NCB, Bangalore Zonal Unit in the presence of the Drug Disposal Committee disposed off 246.000 kg of Acetic Anhydride at Siris Impex, Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh. On 17.09.2014, officers of the Central Bureau of Narcotics, Lucknow seized 2.300 kg of Alprazolam at Jankipuram, Lucknow. 01 person was arrested. On 18.09.2014, officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Lucknow seized 1.146 kg of at Lucknow. 01 person was arrested. On 19.09.2014, officers of the Border Security Force, 50 th Bn., Khasa, seized 2.820 kg of and handed over to the NCB, Sub Zone for action under the NDPS Act. The drug was thrown across the fencing on IndoPak International Border in side. The suspected source of seized drug was South West Asia. On 20.09.2014, officers of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, umbai seized 50.000 kg of Ephedrine from a parcel. The drug was concealed in two carboys (plastic container). On 23.09.2014, officers of the Customs, Attari Rail Unit, seized 485 grams of from a parcel, which was found attached in the overhead cavity of empty wagon of goods train 68 down. The said goods train had arrived LCS Attari Railways platform No.5 from Pakistan. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia. On 25.09.2014, officer of Ajmer Sub Zone seized 11.800 kg of Ganja near Dorai Railway Station, Ajmer. 02 persons were arrested.
On 26.09.2014, officers of the NCB, Ahmedabad Zonal Unit seized 1.390 kg of at Bardoli, Gujarat. 02 persons were arrested. On 27.09.2014, officers of the Border Security Force, 50th Bn., Khasa, Punjab seized 950 grams of and 335 grams of orphine and handed over to the NCB Sub Zone, for action under the NDPS Act. The drug was thrown across the fencing on IndoPak International Border in side. The suspected source of seized drug was South West Asia. On 27.09.2014, officers of the NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized 745 kg of Poppy Straw at Burdwan. 03 persons were arrested. On 27.09.2014, officers of the NCB, Dehradun Sub Zone along with NCB, Chandigarh Zonal Unit conducted a follow up operation in connection with the Cr. No. 02/14 conducted search operation at residential premises of the accused at Paunchkula, Haryana and seized 1,10,070 tablets containing Pseudo Ephedrine and some documents. On 27.09.2014, NCB, Guwahati Zonal Unit seized 2.030 kg of. 03 persons were arrested. On 28.09.2014, officers of the Goa Police seized 1.112 kg of Ganja and 69 grams of Amphetamine at Tiswadi, Goa. 02 Nigerian Nationals were arrested. On 30.09.2014, officers of the Border Security Force, 163rd Bn., Bhikiwind, Punjab seized 1.005 kg of and handed over to the NCB Sub Zone, for action under the NDPS Act. The drug was thrown across the fencing on IndoPak International Border in side. The suspected source of seized drug was South West Asia. During the month of September, 2014, officers of the Customs, FPO, New Delhi intercepted 50 parcels containing 1.560 kg, 1.960 kg Hashish & 340 grams Ketamine. The suspected destinations of seized drugs were Canada, USA, Australia, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Scotland, Germany, France and Netherland. During the month of September, 2014, officers of the Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) seized 72.564 kg of Hashish, 108.700 kg of Ganja & 282 grams of in 21 cases and arrested 25 persons including 11 Foreign Nationals (08, 01 Switzerland, 01 Australia & 01 France Nationals).
