Who are Wiltshire & Swindon Sport? We are a Community Interest Company and our principle aim is to deliver services which benefit the community and in particular to promote and support sport and physical activity to the residents of Wiltshire and Swindon. We provide a range of services, activities and information relevant to the development of sport and physical activity We are part of a national network of County Sports Partnerships established by Sport England to support its aim of getting more people involved in sport We work in partnership with local and national organisations who share our aim of getting people more active and improving sport locally Our Vision That Wiltshire and Swindon has a strong, vibrant and diverse sports community that encourages participation and excellence. Our Activities We support National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of Sport with delivery of their local plans by: Providing specific information on funding, marketing and the local landscape of sport Providing NGB Development Officers with information and opportunities for growing participation in their sport Providing funding for coaching, participation programmes and workforce development We are the lead delivery agent of Sport England programmes in Wiltshire & Swindon. We distribute funding to clubs, volunteers and community groups to support participation in sport We provide opportunities for new and existing participants to access regular physical activity and sport We create and develop sustainable sporting opportunities that add value to the local community through lottery funded programmes like Satellite Clubs and Sportivate wwwwiltssport.org.uk/sportivate We provide support, advice, information and opportunities to Clubs, Schools and Volunteers. Clubmark is the national accreditation scheme for community sports clubs and we can help support clubs to become Clubmark accredited www.wiltssport.org.uk/clubdevelopment/clubmark Satellite clubs are extensions, or outposts of community sports clubs which are established in a new venue often in a school setting and we can support creation and funding support www.wiltssport.org.uk/clubdevelopment/satellite-clubs We can provide a direct link to one or more NGBs by using our Get Active link. RightCoach the County Coaching database Coach Education & Training Courses We provide Wiltshire s online Coach database that provides a one stop shop for coaches and employers. For coaches RightCoach can provide you with many benefits including: Your own coach profile which you control Regular communication through Coaching News sent direct to you email Access to funding to assist with UKCC Level 1, 2 & 3 coaching qualifications Access to coach education courses at discounted price Access to paid and voluntary coaching opportunities For employers RightCoach holds details of 1300+ coaches in over 100 different sports. We ensure that coaches meet Minimum Standards for Deployment or are working towards them in order to find the right coach for you www.wiltssport.org.uk/coaching/ rightcoach We provide Sports Clubs and Coaches with the essential Coach Education workshops in order to gain ClubMark Accreditation and Minimum Standards for Deployment. Funding advice for facilities, coaching & equipment Strategic Networking & Local Insight We provide a comprehensive Funding Directory (A-Z) of sources of funding to assist your club or organisation Initial advice and support with funding applications Asset transfer advice and support www.wiltssport.org.uk/funding School Games & Sports Event management We coordinate the Wiltshire and Swindon School Games, a celebration of competitive sport opportunities for schools in the county.
