A MORE FUNCTIONAL APPROACH TO FITNESS Parkour evolved from simple, practical movement skills including running, jumping, vaulting, climbing, swinging, brachiating and crawling. The Programs are composed of Modules which comprise the core competency areas of parkour movement, including: CLIMB JUMP MODULES FLOW GROUNDWORK BALANCE The Modules are composed of individual drills or activities which generally increase in complexity and/or difficulty as one progresses through the training. These drills are designed to be trained individually at first and then in conjunction with other drill areas to create patterns of movement which can be applied to variable terrain.

JUMP IS A TRAINING MODULE BASED ON ONE OF THE ESSENTIAL HUMAN LOCOMOTION SKILLS: JUMPING. Jumping is a sophisticated and holistic explosive skill that engages the entire nervous system, most of the major muscle groups and connective tissues, and draws on fascial tension to exert your strength as quickly as possible. Jumping is an incredibly effective way to increase your power, strength, coordination, agility, range of motion and impact absorption abilities. The program covers every method and form of jumping, including plyometrics, and applies them to actual movement tasks.

GROUNDWORK IS A NATURAL METHOD OF TRAINING INSPIRED BY THE QUADRUPEDAL TRAINING SYSTEM USED FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS TO STRENGTHEN THE BODY AND MIND OF PARKOUR ATHLETES. GROUNDWORK is a system of bodyweight, low-gait locomotion and travelling forms used by parkour practitioners for over twenty years and perfected in Parkour Programs. GROUNDWORK draws on the primitive movement patterns observed at the earliest stage of humankind. Since the first step of human evolution, we have naturally been crawling, squatting and moving around on four limbs. This is the root of all locomotion movement before our body can stand up and combine movements in high gaits, and it s how we learn to develop contra-lateral movement and builds the foundation for efficient biomechanics.

FURTHER DEVELOPMENT MODULES: BALANCE is a holistic program that encourages mindful movement through proprioceptive and mobile balance training, reconnecting body and mind and reducing stress. CLIMB is a training program based on climbing and traversing movements which enable us to transfer our bodyweight up and across varied terrain with fluidity, grace and ease.
