APRIL 2014 Dear John, We have had a very busy and exciting time at Wellspring in the last couple of months. Brandon led a team to Africa, Pastor Pat and Gayle went to the Philippines and Milan and I went to India and Nepal. It is a privilege to share some of what happened and how God has been blessing our work and your investment in His Kingdom. First in early February Brandon left for Kenya to visit Pastor Joseph who attended the Wellspring School of Ministry last July. It was very exciting to see the fruit of our investment in Joseph and his work. Here is Brandon's report: OL JORO OROK, KENYA AFRICA My team and I went to Ol Joro Orok, Kenya in early February to encourage and strengthen Pastor Joseph who pastors a church, teaches Wellspring Conferences and also has an orphanage. We taught a Wellspring Conference in Kinangop for pastors from all different parts of Kenya and also visited with the children and caretakers of the orphanage. PASTOR JOSEPH AND BRANDON TEACHING WELLSPRING CONFERENCE Pastor Joseph has a ministry to children who do not have parents or relatives able to care for them due to AIDS. His vision is to purchase land and expand the orphanage to 20 children. Please pray with us that Pastor Joseph will be able to acquire land in order to house 20 children and for the expansion of the message of freedom in Kenya. Thank you Brandon, Youth Pastor Wellspring Church. JULIA- CARETAKER AND BRITTANY
PASTOR JOSEPH, BRANDON AND GABRIEL WITH CHILDREN FROM ORPHANAGE WELLSPRING INDIA PASTOR JOE AND SUSAN Milan and I left for India and Nepal on January 28th. We first traveled to Hyderabad, India to see Joe and Susan who have established Wellspring Ministries of India and also Wellspring Church of Hyderabad. I was there five years ago and met Joe and Susan. Since then they have been physically healed (Susan's testimony is on our website) and they have been to Anchorage to attend the School of Ministry. It was incredible for me to see the church, the ministry office and meet all the people that are working with Joe and Susan. WELLSPRING INDIA OFFICES Biblical Foundations of Freedom are printed and ready for the conference on far left. There are many that have left the Hindu religion and now worship Jesus! It was incredible to see the excitement for God and see new believers leading their Hindu friends to the Lord! It was incredible to hear all their testimonies and to teach in Wellspring Church of Hyderabad and also to teach a conference to over 150 pastors! On this trip we celebrated the translation of Biblical Foundations of Freedom into Telugu and Hindi. Now they have this book in their own languages. Thank you everyone who helped with this project! HYDERABAD CONFERENCE SUNNY TEACHING AT WELLSPRING CONFERENCE IN DEHLI Then Milan and I, along with Joe, Sunny and Sundeep from Wellspring India traveled to New Dehli. Sunny and I taught a Wellspring Conference in Dehli while Milan and Joe traveled onto Jhansi to teach there. Over 200 pastors and leaders attended those two conferences. In New Dehli, there were Hindi people and even a Muslim that attended. People's lives were greatly impacted. WELLSPRING NEPAL Next Joe, Milan and I traveled to Kathmandu, Nepal where we met Pastor Daniel of Wellspring Nepal. PASTOR DANIEL AT WELLSPRING CONFERENCE We taught a four day conference to mostly brand new believers. They are the result of Pastor Daniel traveling all over Nepal teaching about a Jesus that heals and forgives through Wellspring Conferences. He has over 25 churches that he has established and works with. He also has a small Bible school and a small orphanage. MILAN, JEFFERSON & DANIEL WELLSPRING NEPAL CONFERENCE This was a very special time for me to teach all these new believers. Many of them were Hindu witch doctors just a short time ago. This was a difficult conference to teach because they were new believers and had little understanding of many Biblical principles and they spoke no English. It is so much better when the local people
teach. They are far more effective than I could ever be in their country. I learned more than I really wanted to about Hinduism. It was shocking to learn that human sacrifice is commonly done...that women are just property...that life has no value...that the caste system was founded in the Hindu religion as a form of social engineering. PASTORS NAZ & JEFFERSON - PAKISTAN We also celebrated the translation of Biblical Foundations of Freedom, In His Own Image and The Continuing Works of Christ into Nepalese! We were in India and Nepal almost a month. It was a great trip, but it was good to be back home. PHILIPPINES REBUILD & RESTORE The first week of March Pastor Pat and Gayle and Pastor Victor Abalos from Bereka Church, a local Filipino congregation that meets in our building went to The Philippines. When the huge typhoon struck there a few months ago, I felt led to start raising money to help the people. So Wellspring, along with Bereka, partnered together and we raised over $35,000 that they took with them to rebuild homes and churches. Many of you participated in this, Thank you! Here is their report: By Pastor Pat Hadley Wellspring partnered with Bereka Church in Anchorage, Alaska to raise funds for helping pastors and churches rebuild after the devastation caused by typhoon Yolanda. Through your gifts and others, God provided $35,000 toward this relief effort. It was a joy for my wife Gayle and me to accompany Pastor Victor Abalos from Bereka Church to deliver the funds that were given. We visited hard hit areas of Northern Cebu and Tocloban. We were amazed at the divine appointments with many pastors whose homes had been ruined, and others whose church buildings were destroyed. The brothers and sisters of The Philippines say THANK YOU for your prayers and support. PASTORS RECEIVING FUNDS TO REBUILD The second phase of our trip was to teach a full Wellspring Conference for over 150 pastors and leaders in Lapu-Lapu. These pastors found great freedom in their own lives and were grateful to have such powerful tools for helping the people to whom they minister find freedom! Please continue to pray for an increase of freedom in the churches, and that several pastors will attend our next two-week School of Ministry in Anchorage.
A GREAT OPPORTUNITY! These trips have a very special meaning for Wellspring because we are seeing the fruit of many years work. To see changed lives and ministries being established all over the world is too much to comprehend at times. It is amazing that God chooses to use people like you and me. It is amazing that we get to participate and be a part of something so incredible! Thank you for being part of this! Now I would like to share opportunities to make further investments into God's Kingdom. For what we spent on just the trip to India and Nepal we could support 10 local people for a whole year! Think about this... In going back to ministries that we have established in the past we have found several people that have proved themselves in that they feel God has called them to the Wellspring Ministry. They are not just saying words to get support, they have demonstrated their commitment through their actions. What I am trying to communicate is that we feel it is time to directly support many of these faithful people. My question is "do you want to be part of this?" We would like to invest further into the following ministries and ministers: Joe & Susan of Wellspring India. Joe is traveling all over India and the Middle East teaching Wellspring conferences. He needs at least $500 per month. We also need to print our books. Currently they are only available in Telugu and Hindi electronically. I would like to support at least two of the people that work with Pastor Joe. Sunny is an incredible administrator and teacher. This would be $200 per month for each one. In Africa Pastor Joseph is traveling and teaching but has very few resources. $200 per month would provide resources to reach hundreds more people. Pastor David also in Africa has worked now for several years preaching and teaching Wellspring all over Uganda. Only money for expenses limits what he can do. $200 per month would transform his ministry. In Nepal we need to print books. It costs about $1.50 to print Biblical Foundations into Nepalese and they can sell it for about $4.00. This would make the ministry self-supporting after our initial investment. This is our goal in every ministry that we support. $3000 would print 2000 books!! Also in Nepal, Pastor Daniel would like to start a water delivery business. All drinking water must be delivered by truck because the ground water is very polluted. The business could repay the loan in four years. The cash flow would net about $600 per month for the ministry after loan payments. If you are interested or want more information please call me. In Pakistan, Pastor Jefferson has translated all three books into Urdu and would like to teach more conferences. He needs expense
money. $200 per month would allow him to teach at least one conference per month. He has already made Wellspring a part of the seminar from which he offers degrees in Pakistan, Africa, Nepal and many other places in the Middle East. John, there are several others that are worthy of our support and investment, but this letter is already too long. What do you think? May God bless you! Thank you for all that you have done in the past and the future. Wellspring Ministries 2511 Sentry Drive, Suite 200 Anchorage, AK 99507 907.563.9033 akwellspring.com
