PTA President s Corner Dear Parents, My name is Kristin Maggio and I am the new 2017-2018 PAES PTA President. I hope you all had a refreshing summer and great start to our school year. The PTA Board has been busy making some amazing plans for the new school year! I have been a part of the PAES community for six years and I am looking forward to serving as your PTA president. We are a military family who has relocated several times in the past and feel like we have found a home in the PAES community. We hope to continue the many wonderful educational and community building events that we have had in the past, so that all of our families feel connected to the children and teachers that make up their child s school day. In order to successfully plan and celebrate our school events, we need your help as volunteers. We are looking forward to the family events that are coming up in this next school year. Come and meet other PAES families at the Back-2-School Bash September 29. This is a great event that will offer you the opportunity to kick off the school year with families and friends from PAES. We are also happy to announce that we are reintroducing the Watch Dog Dad Program. There will be a Pizza Night on October 4 where dads can learn what awesome opportunities this program offers as they actively volunteer in their child s school community. Please put these two events on your calendar. Our parents are the driving force of our PTA and we need you to make this school year the best one yet. The monthly newsletter is a great place to look for dates for our upcoming events, so please stay tuned. I look forward to welcoming our new families and seeing old friends return as the school year gets under way. I am excited about being a part of this wonderful community and hope that you are as well. Mrs. Ginny O Malley, Assistant Principal and Mr. Ivy Wroton, Principal of Princess Anne Elementary School. @PAESPTA

SUNSHINE EXPRESS for GRADES 3-5 The goal of the Sunshine Express this year is to reach out and touch family, classmates, and friends by bringing a smile to their hearts and faces via letters. Several adult volunteers are needed to help us accomplish our goal throughout the school year. We meet in the cafeteria once a month on Fridays. Friendly notes and hand drawn pictures will be sent to many people this year. Everybody on our mailing list will receive a greeting from the club each month. Smiles are what it is all about. Adult volunteers enable our club to operate and bring miles of smiles to the faces of people we know and to those we will never meet. Just knowing you have brought a smile to someone s face will make you smile. Let s make this a GREAT year! Postage Stamp donations are greatly appreciated for our correspondence.
