Volunteer - Supporter Care team We are Bloodwise, the largest UK blood cancer charity. Every year we stop more people dying of blood cancer and our researchers are even working to stop people developing blood cancer in the first place. We improve the lives of blood cancer patients with cancers such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma because we believe everyone should be able to live their life to the full. We ve been working to beat blood cancer for over 50 years and we won t stop until we do. Be a part of our story and help us change the world. Support Care Volunteer Role: Voluntary Team: Supporter Care Department: Individual Giving; Fundraising Location: Holborn, London 10-14 hours per week (Monday/Tuesday) Commitment for at least 6 months Bloodwise vision Our job is to stop people dying from blood cancer, improve patients quality of life and stop people getting a blood cancer in the first place. Supporter Care Just as our ambition for beating blood cancer starts with understanding the needs of patients, our fundraising ambition starts with understanding the needs and motivations of our supporters. That s why we re looking for a passionate volunteer to support our diverse fundraising work. The Supporter Care team support the Individual Giving team and wider Fundraising directorate in all areas of fundraising including community and challenge events and play a key role in communicating with and supporting our regular donors. The Supporter Care Officer position is crucial in supporting the team to continue to grow and expand our impact. In preparing for the next stage of our growth we are looking to increase and diversify our income. This will include a major focus on implementing and sustaining excellent Supporter Care as we grow our database of individual supporters, with a specific focus on regular donors. Your job will be to provide excellent supporter care by communicating with our supporters in writing and verbally, answering queries and providing information; ensuring we respond to supporter feedback and develop engaging relationships. What you ll do Enhance supporter relationships using ongoing supporter feedback and delivering excellent supporter care. Ensure all fundraising enquires are handled appropriately, professionally and in a timely manner. Follow agreed processes and good practice within the team. Work with rest of the Supporter Care team to develop personalised supporter communications wherever possible across all channels. Have an operational understanding of our fundraising activities. Maintain the complaints register where required Collate reports on performance and progress working with the Supporter Care Manager
Check all processes to ensure the correct supporters are selected for mailings. Work with other fundraising teams to promote supporter fundraising across the directorate Individual Giving, Sports, Corporate, Regional and High Value Partnerships. Work with colleagues across the organisation to provide ad-hoc project and logistical support for events. Promote and communicate the Bloodwise aims, mission, belief and work clearly and effectively. Key relationships Reports to the Supporter Care Manager The Supporter Care team Works closely with CiviCRM database, Trading, Digital, Finance and other teams within the Fundraising directorate. Proactively engages with all Bloodwise supporters and staff Our kind of Supporter Care Volunteer will: have experience working with databases have worked in customer / supporter services or similar roles previously be naturally well organised and be able to prioritise your work independently have excellent written and verbal communication skills be a team player possess the ability to be proactive and to effectively problem solve have the ability to work under pressure and to handle challenging situations understand the importance of developing and maintaining great relationships with our supporters We d like you to have as many of these as possible Good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
