"At their worst, you can be thrown to the ground and totally unable to function. It feels like a terrorist attack or being chased by dinosaurs -- yet while you want to run for your life, you can't."

"My body feels tingly and I get dizzy. I feel like ice is running through my veins. I want to run away from my body but I can't, of course. Shallow breathing. Heart racing. Total panic."

Agoraphobia The fear of public spaces and open spaces. the fear of the marketplace The fear of panic hitting WHILE IN A PUBLIC SPACE and not being able to escape or help not being available. Crowds, bridges, buses, standing in line, being in open spaces

Social Phobia (social anxiety disorder) differs from agoraphobia in that people with social anxiety disorder fear being scrutinized having a conversation, eating in front of others, giving a speech, etc in children it must occur in peer settings, not just with adults afraid of acting in a way that will be negatively received by others (be rejected by or offend others) social situations almost always provoke fear or anxiety in children- tantrums, crying, freezing, clinging, shrinking or failing to speak in social situations lasts 6+ months
