10th Annual Spine Summit in Seattle September 30 - October 1, 2011 COURSE DESCRIPTION This marks the tenth anniversary of the fall symposium at Harborview Medical Center pertaining to spine surgery. For the participants, this intense meeting offers the unique chance to learn in a number of ways: small group case discussions, plenary debates and lectures on current major clinical care concerns and advanced research, as well as hands-on surgical cadaver labs delivered by acknowledged leaders in a time-efficient and highly engaging format. This meeting has evolved from an annual surgical practice lab over ten years ago to a major, recognized symposium. COURSE OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this program, attendees should be able to: Describe state-of-the art care for the patient requiring spinal surgery Discuss ongoing research endeavors in the field of spinal care regarding patient outcomes Recognize safety measures and tips for advanced spinal instrumentation techniques Discuss treatment algorithms for a variety of indications and situational variations Recognize controversies and deficiencies of current knowledge base and attempt to resolve these ACCREDITATION The University of Washington School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Washington School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 10.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. WHO SHOULD ATTEND This conference is designed for: spine surgeons orthopaedic and neurological surgeons with interest in spinal care physiatrists and rehabilitation medicine specialists pain management specialists neuroradiologists primary care and family medicine providers with exposure to larger spine care populations physician assistants and nurse practitioners involved in musculoskeletal trauma, hand and upper extremity care physical and occupational therapists FEES AND REGISTRATION MD/DO/PhD $145.00 Allied Healthcare $95.00 Resident/Fellow $45.00 The fee for this course includes catering, instruction materials and transcript of Category 1 credit. CANCELLATION POLICY The Office of Continuing Medical Education must receive written notification of your cancellation by September 23, 2011. A $50.00 processing fee will be deducted from refund requests received by this date. No refunds will be issued following September 23, 2011. The Office of Continuing Medical Education reserves the right to cancel this course twenty (20) days prior to the course date when a minimum enrollment is not met or for other reasons that prevent the University from holding the course.
