The Cardiovascular Sequence

Hyperthermia must be avoided as it increases the risk and severity of neurodevelopmental morbidities. Mild therapeutic hypothermia expertly administered and initiated within the first 6 hours of life in babies 35 weeks gestation with moderate to severe hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy decreases mortality and the severity of neurodevelopmental morbidities.
