Twelve Points Tapping

Shí'èr Twelve Points Tapping

Twelve Points Tapping As taught by Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. The Twelve Points Tapping routine is a 'prewarm-up, warm-up''. The goal is to open up the energy channels so the Qì 氣 is flowing freely and to then send vibrations down the channels to unblock any stagnations and ensure the channels are clear. Once the channels are clear and the Qì 氣 is flowing further Qìgōng 氣功 exercises will be much more effective. Characteristics of Twelve Points Vital components of the Twelve Points Tapping are: Tap hard enough so you can feel it, yet not so light it is like stroking. The routine can be shortened or the order altered. Successful Practice For successful practice: Ensure your stance is correct. Gently bounce the legs throughout if comfortable. Contraindications The Twelve Points Tapping should not be practiced if any of the following apply: Physical ability should be given due consideration. Any hand, wrist or leg problems should be given due consideration. The overall effect of practicing the Twelve Points is to: Open the energy channels. Unblock stagnations. Gather earth Qì 氣.
